Finance Manager (EMEA)

This international role will require the role to be based in one of our primary international locations in the UK, Saudi Arabia, UAE and surrounding GCC.

What's the opportunity?


Finance Manager – EMEA Region is responsible for overseeing the management and reporting of financial data for the Europe, Middle East & East Africa (EMEA) Region, supporting the Finance team and other departments and delivering monthly/yearly financial results and compliance in a timely and accurate manner.


The role will also support the International Commercial function with commercial analysis and reporting. Occasional travel is likely to be necessary between geographies in our international locations or as requested by customer or market activity.


About the role:

Accounting / Month-End / Reporting

  • Provide leadership to internal and external teams, to create a team culture based on delivery and service excellence.
  • Prepare technical accounting papers, reports, accounting policies and procedures, and other material as required on issues of significance relating to financial accounting and reporting
  • Research accounting and other regulatory requirements domestically (EMEA Region) and internationally (including tax) to determine accounting/tax consequences including business partnering with pricing, sales and the business in the context of specific transactions
  • Prepare and review the statutory annual financial statements including the supporting work papers for consolidated and/or individual entities within the Health Group including liaising with external auditors
  • Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs and procedures including spearheading optimisation/best practice financial accounting and reporting processes
  • Preparing balance sheet projections (including cash) and monitoring against forecast/budget • Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts
  • Support month end and year end close process
  • Support International Commercial Function with project, market or service level commercial analysis to support strategic decision making/GTM strategies on market positioning, product development, pricing and business investment.


Budget & Forecasting

  • Assist with the budgeting and forecasting for the region


Taxation / Treasury / Commercial

  • Manage tax across EMEA ensuring that all tax obligations have been met.
  • Manage engagements with external advisors ensuring that service levels are met and costs are kept under control
  • Manage administration of all bank accounts and ensure there is adequate cash to fulfill obligations
  • Build strong relationships with external banks and Telstra Treasury. Ensure that all banking is in line with Telstra Treasury policies
  • Partner with the business, providing strategic and financial advice on all commercial decisions
  • Evaluate efficient use of capital and ensuring business case has positive ROI


About you:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, CPA or CA fully qualified
  • 3+ years’ experience in similar position in medium to large enterprise
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong level of analytical and commercial acumen
  • Advanced computer software skills, including Excel and other financial software and tools for reporting and analysis purposes
  • Ability to perform data and statistical analysis to spot trends and anomalies
  • Ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders
