Job Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Technical Specialist, where you will engage in pivotal technical and analytical tasks centered on the design, development, implementation, and support of the AASHTOWare Project (AWP) for the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). This remote position requires you to reside in the Eastern Time Zone to effectively collaborate with team members during standard business hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform independent programming and analysis work to deliver essential functionality for Preconstruction and CRL modules of AWP.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and technical personnel, ensuring the successful implementation of AWP projects in an agile environment.
  • Execute a broad range of technical tasks, including system administration, report writing, automated testing, and interface development.
  • Employ best practices in source code maintenance utilizing GIT.
  • Develop and demonstrate appropriate testing protocols while creating test scripts for software validation.
  • Provide recommendations for AWP enhancements based on thorough evaluations of requirements and your technical expertise.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in SQL, C#, .NET, Python, and PowerShell, with experience in utilizing LAMDA for web application development.
  • Strong understanding of SOLID principles in software development and the ability to articulate their application.
  • Capability to interpret user specifications and effectively configure COTS applications.
  • Familiarity with the AASHTOWare Project tools, processes, and data model, alongside technical expertise in DOT business processes.
  • Experience in creating and modifying custom reports using AWP’s Active Reports tool, based on Grape City Tool.
  • Ability to thrive in an Agile SCRUM team setting, breaking down development tasks into manageable units.
