The
Commercial Operations Analyst supports the Commercial Global Scheduling function by supporting process improvement projects and providing vacation coverage for Schedulers. Leads various initiatives to build and improve consistency in work processes and functions with global alignment. Proactively manages a diverse group of tasks with multiple timelines, stages, and stakeholders.
Position is based on site in Houston, TX office.
Responsibilities May Include
- Determining best practices to optimize and streamline scheduler’s workload with a global focus
- Leading process improvement projects to reduce non value-added tasks for the global scheduling organization that result in time savings and transactional accuracy
- Implementing automation to reduce manual time completing tasks
- Acting as a liaison between the front, mid and back office for improvement projects and process change feasibility
- Providing change management for system and process changes
- Providing testing of system releases, individual bug fixes and small projects, creating and executing testing plans for cross-functional scenarios
- Providing vacation coverage for the US scheduling organization
Required Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- Bachelor’s degree
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Basic proficiency in SAP S/4 HANA
- Able to work remotely via cellphone and/or laptop computer 24/7 as needed
- Able to work extended and non-standard hours as needed
- 1 or more years of experience in the Commercial area or Oil/Gas/applicable industry
Preferred Qualifications
- Business understanding of Commercial operations as well as the downstream value chain
- Self-motivated, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to manage multiple projects / tasks
- Able to effectively collaborate with business to ensure alignment of business solutions
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
The
Commercial organization works to effectively leverage assets and market knowledge to create additional value within the risk parameters of the Company. We do this by maximizing general interest profitability, enhancing return on capital employed by successfully partnering with the Refining, Transportation and Marketing functions to ensure Value Chain Integration. Our truck and rail fleets support our feedstock and distribution operations. Rail movements are provided via a fleet of more than 10,000 owned and leased rail cars. Truck movements are provided through numerous third-party trucking companies, as well as through our 100 percent-owned subsidiary, Sentinel Transportation LLC.
