Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Adult ESL Coach to support newly arrived refugees in accessing asynchronous English lessons through our digital platform. The ideal candidate will assess client English levels, monitor student progress, assist with goal setting and tracking, and provide guidance on digital literacy to enhance learning outcomes. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coaching and Support:
- Provide one-on-one coaching sessions to help refugees navigate the digital platform and access English language resources.
- Assist clients in setting realistic, achievable language acquisition goals and tracking their progress.
- Assist clients in identifying strategies to help them reach their goals.
Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and monitor learners' engagement and progress through the digital platform. Offer constructive feedback and recommendations to help students improve their language skills. Enter data and document client engagement and progress.
Digital Literacy Assistance: Conduct workshops and individual sessions on digital literacy, focusing on using the platform effectively, online safety, and resource navigation. Develop instructional materials to aid learners in enhancing their digital skills.
Community Building: Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages learners to practice English in a safe space. Plan and facilitate peer-to-peer interactions and group discussions to enhance communication skills.
Collaboration:Work with other staff to identify specific needs of clients Work with other staff to ensure all clients are empowered to access a full range of services as needed. Aid clients on transitioning to in permanent English classes through referral, help with registration, and collaboration with adult ESL service providers. Support volunteers in working with clients to improve English skills.
Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student progress and feedback, reporting to the Program Coordinator as required. Identify and document common challenges faced by learners and suggest improvements to the program.
Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in adult ESL education, digital learning, and refugee support services. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities. JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals for the Health of The Nation document
- Bachelor's degree in education, TESOL, TEFEL, Linguistics, or a related field preferred.
- Experience teaching English or English as a Second Language, or coaching, particularly with adult learners or refugee populations.
- Experience solving problems and viewing challenges through a solutions-oriented lens.
- Strong understanding of digital learning platforms and tools.
- Experience using data to track student progress.
- Excellent communication skills and cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
- Digital Literacy Experience
- Working in database, organizing data in spreadsheets, and using office software to organize data and documents as well as to communicate internally and externally.
- Valid driver's license, and access to a vehicle
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in digital literacy training.
- Experience with asynchronous learning.
- Proficiency in Spanish, Arabic, Kinyarwanda, Dari, Farsi, or Haitian Creole.
- Experience working with cross cultural populations.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and understanding of the refugee experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Experience working on a team to mutually achieve client centered goals.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
