Test Engineer

About Us

HappyDance is at the forefront of HR technology, transforming the landscape with our industry-leading careers website platform. We believe in a world where everyone loves their job. Our cutting-edge technology, world-class candidate experience, and exceptional customer service set a new standard in employer branding. We aim to scale our annual recurring revenue to $20 million within the next 2-5 years, making us the go-to provider for careers website technology.

The Role

We’re searching for a detail-oriented and proactive Test Engineer to join our dynamic digital team. You’ll be at the forefront of testing our platforms to ensure they’re as reliable as they are groundbreaking. Your expertise will ensure that every new feature and update, whether it’s on our custom CMS, in automated workflows, or around accessibility, meets the highest standards before going live. If you’re passionate about automation, accessibility, and making the web a better place for all, this role is for you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Accessibility Testing: Ensuring all our websites and digital products comply with WCAG 2.2 Accessibility guidelines. Using a mix of automated and manual testing to deliver a seamless experience to all users, regardless of ability.
  • Automated Testing: Building, maintaining, and executing automated tests using tools like Selenium, Cypress, or similar. You’ll ensure every release is as flawless as possible, catching bugs before they reach production.
  • CMS Testing: Testing the functionality and user experience of our CMS to ensure its intuitive, efficient, and performing exactly as intended.
  • Regression Testing: Running comprehensive regression tests to make sure that new features don’t break existing functionality. You’ll keep things running smoothly across multiple projects and ensure that all updates are released with confidence.
  • New Feature Testing: Collaborating closely with our development team to thoroughly test and validate new features before they’re rolled out. Your critical eye will ensure that all new additions are bug-free and ready for prime time

What You’ll Bring

  • Automation Mastery: Experience with automated testing tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright. You’re skilled at building test scripts and workflows that catch even the sneakiest of bugs.
  • Accessibility Knowledge: A strong understanding of Accessibility and WCAG 2.2 standards, with the ability to test and improve websites for all users.
  • CMS Expertise: Familiarity with testing content management systems
  • Attention to Detail: You have an eagle eye for issues, whether it's in new code or legacy features.
  • Collaborative Mindset: You thrive in an agile team environment, working with developers, designers, and product managers to create the best possible outcomes.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: You love finding solutions to tricky testing challenges, whether through automation or good old-fashioned detective work.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • Experience with web-based testing, including cross-browser and device compatibility.
  • Solid understanding of version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with API testing and related tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).
  • An enthusiasm for regression testing—you understand its importance in delivering consistent, high-quality features.
  • The ability to multi-task across multiple projects, ensuring no detail is missed.

Challenges You’ll Face

  • Balancing: Testing both new features and performing regular regression tests for multiple clients across different projects.
  • Automation: Constantly refining and improving our automated test scripts to keep pace with evolving requirements.
  • Accessibility: Testing for compliance with accessibility standards, identifying gaps, and ensuring flawless experiences for all users.

Why Join Us?
