Job description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Sales Director to oversee and manage our sales operations in our Southeastern Region. The ideal candidate will reside in the Region and preferably close to our key markets/customers. States included in this territory are Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, and Alabama.

She/He will be able to travel regularly throughout the Region. This role involves managing a team responsible for promoting and selling our commercial and residential door hardware products, ensuring market acceptance, driving growth, driving customers engagement and achieving set sales targets.

The Regional Sales Director will be responsible for:

 

Strategic Planning and Analysis:

  • Partner with the Sales Operations Team to prepare forecasts and develop regional growth plans and strategies aligned with company revenue goals.
  • Help us continuously fine tune and differentiate our value proposition 
  • Analyze market dynamics, trends, and competitor activities to maximize successes, identify new sales opportunities, and adapt strategies.
  • Develop and execute annual and quarterly channel sales strategies and sales plans to drive growth and accountability within the Region.

 

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Grow, Develop, Lead and manage a cohesive team of Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), Channel Account Managers and Business Development Managers  to achieve market penetration and revenue targets.
  • Recruit, hire, and train staff, fostering a positive work environment and supporting professional development.
  • Educate the team on value selling, industry factors, and competitive landscape.
  • Implement ongoing training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.

 

Sales Execution and Performance:

  • Ensure accountability for regional business and revenue goals, setting and maintaining annual and quarterly sales targets.
  • Develop and implement sales plans and marketing actions to capture competitive share and generate new business.
  • Utilize resources and tools to identify and develop high-potential sales leads, and conduct sales calls and meetings to create new opportunities.
  • Monitor performance metrics, report on team performance, and address deficiencies.

 

Collaboration and Relationship Management:

  • Foster strong collaboration between field and inside sales teams to enhance customer experience.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers, national corporate offices, strategic vendors, and OEMs/Suppliers to drive lead generation and secure preferred distribution partnerships.
  • Serve as the channel contact for national vendor and customer relationships.
  • Partner with product management to develop regional stocking strategies to support the local markets and optimize distribution center usage.

 

Regional Management and Travel:

  • Regularly travel within the Region to engage with stakeholders, build relationships, and support sales initiatives.
  • Continuously analyze market trends and customer needs to adapt strategies and drive sales growth.

 

Training and Development:

  • Work with Talent Acquisition and Development to create, deliver, and evaluate onboarding and ongoing training programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry standards.

 

Product Knowledge:

  • Research customer needs and preferences, stay updated on product and industry knowledge, and track and evaluate sales data to inform Regional strategies.

 

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5+ years of work experience in a business environment, including sales responsibilities. Demonstrated record of achievement in prior sales position.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills negotiations and problem- solving abilities and initiative. Excellent team building, coaching, and collaboration skills are required. Attention to detail, good follow-up, and organizational skills are important.
