Software Engineering Team Lead: Production Support

One Inc has an opportunity to lead Production Support for one of its core SaaS Insurance Payments platforms. This position requires excellent technical skills, outstanding leadership, and keen analytical skills paired with strong business insight and SaaS product development experiences. It is a multi-functional role that requires a combination of team leadership, technical acumen, and external/internal stakeholder communication within a fast-growing organization. 
 
Open to Fully Remote, Flex (1-3 days/week in the office), or Office-Based (4-5 days/week in office) 
 
Responsibilities/Duties:

• Overall accountability for the production reliability of One Inc’s ClaimsPay platform.
• Leads and manages a global team of up to 30 software engineers and quality engineers.
• Leads and collaborates with Production Support engineering teams to understand and monitor work queues for Continuous Improvement opportunities.
• Contributes to documenting engineering best practices while ensuring team adherence.
• Collaborates with Security team to ensure on-going PCI compliance of platforms.
• Creates and manages Key Performance Indicators to ensure that we are continuously raising our standard of engineering excellence. 
• Manages relationships with third party supply chain Vendor Partners while driving accountability of performance.
• Collaborates with Vendor Partners to identify and drive the implementation of Continuous Improvement to enhance Reliability and Performance.
• Collaborates with Infrastructure teams to ensure that all platform capabilities that are Critical to Quality are instrumented and measured.
• Serves as the Engineering lead for escalated events that create client disruption. This is inclusive of driving the identification of root cause and implementing preventative measures.
• Develops and advocates for technical architectures that solve complex performance issues. 
• Works in a consultative fashion to improve communication, teamwork, and alignment among teams inside and outside of the organization. 
• Leads design and code reviews for remediated code. Participates in code reviews for new product development.
• Drives strategic technology initiatives that enhance operational excellence and reliability by collaborating with Product Managers, Architects, Engineers, SMEs and the broader One Inc organization. 
• Collaborates with Quality Assurance team to remediate testing gaps that may lead to defects escaping to production.
• Influences and contributes to end-to-end technical product architecture. 
• Analyzes and provides feedback on product strategy. 
• Provides input into long-range product requirements, standard methodologies, and operational guidelines, with focus on continuous improvement of platform reliability and serviceability, 
• Contributes to research, case studies, and prototypes on innovative technologies and how they can be used to provide a seamless, and performant end user experience.

Skills and Experience:

• Expert in PHP, C#, .NET Core, Azure.
• Experience with cloud native architecture.
• Excellent communication skills. 
• Proficiency in TDD, Domain Driven Architecture, CQRS, Design Patterns, and Clean and Secure Coding Standards. 
• Expert in SugarCRM. 
• Experience working as a software engineer in insure-tech or fin-tech space with demonstrated success at designing for high volume, scalability, and availability.  
• Ability to independently craft and deliver large complex projects.
• Large scale implementations of Cloud Native Solutions, Containers, Microservices. 
• Mastery in multiple programming languages and platforms. 
• More than 10 years of software development experience. 
• Experience with Agile development methodology (e.g., Scrum), Scaled frameworks desirable. 

Leadership and Influence:

• 10 years experience in the Information Technology arena, with at least 3 years of management in this field.
• Ability to work with a cross functional team of developers, architects, and security analysts to remediate issues while implementing sustainable technology changes.
• Ability to provide mentoring and coaching to team members to support their understanding of architecture and aid in their technical development.
• Ability to create and monitor Key Performance Indicators that are used as a basis of continuous improvement.
• Ability to build an environment for transparent and open discussion of all issues.
