Job description

LPA is a multi-discipline firm focused on collaboration, inclusion, and an integrated design process that connects building performance and design excellence. 

 

We are seeking an energetic, organized and customer-focused Design Technologies entry level specialist. As the Design Technologies Specialist I, you will work with a team to triage, troubleshoot and manage design technology issues. These tools are critical to the work that LPA develops and creates for our clients. Your solid foundation in Revit or Civil 3d will be useful in understanding the language of design and how to better engage with the creative and technical needs of our multidisciplinary teams. 

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Learn, assist in developing, and disseminate BIM workflows, ensuring efficient data management processes.  

  • Develop proficiency and expertise in the software applications that LPA’s design teams utilize. 

  • Acts as a support resource for core design technologies. 

  • Provides feedback on project-based activities to the firmwide Design Technology team. 

  • Engage in BIM coordination meetings to resolve issues, enhance collaboration, and ensure project alignment.  

  • Identify trends among BIM requests and issues and report to the Design Technology team. Assist in discovering and developing proactive solutions accordingly 

  • Create ACC projects and Revit models and assist project teams in ensuring proper setup at the start of the BIM process 

  • Provide training and support to team members on BIM processes, tools, and best practices.  

  • Work closely with the Design Technologies Team to align BIM strategies with firm-wide goals.  

  • Offers expertise and guidance to project teams in the application of design technology methods. 

  • Serves as a resource and actively participates in all stages of the project. 

  • Stays up-to-date with advancements in design software, industry trends in integrated practice, and other relevant techniques. 
     
     

Requirements:  

  • Emerging proficiency in BIM software, including Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and other relevant tools. 

  • Autodesk Certified User in Revit or equivalent knowledge of Revit 

  • Familiarity with related platforms ie. AutoCAD, Rhino/Sketchup, and possibly some engineering software 

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and coordinate detailed workflows effectively.  

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on collaboration and teamwork.  

  • Ability to schedule and assist in facilitating meetings, training sessions, and cross-functional coordination. 

  • Technical acumen combined with a rigor to learn and develop to allow for growth 

  • Emerging problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and share project challenges.  

 

Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Proficient at communication and documentation of problems and processes. 

  • Revit or Civil 3d Certified Associate  

  • Experience with general technology; computers, software, programming, etc. 

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and Office suite.  

  • Proficient with troubleshooting and researching technology problems.

The salary range for this position is $20 to $25 per hour and is eligible for an annual bonus. If you are hired at LPA, your base salary is based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, education, experience, and/or project complexity.
