About the Opportunity
Job Summary
Reporting to the Exe Director, Research Finance Operations, this is a termed position to support the Workday Finance implementation functions of the central Research Finance office within Northeastern University Research Enterprise Services (NU-RES) by providing organizational efficiencies and assisting with work as it relates to the configuration and implementation of the system. Responsibilities include supporting end to end testing for both the research and the customer track, ensure test scenarios are documented tested, assist with ticket management, follow up on possible configuration changes, develop SOPS and job aids to support the research community with go-live. Work with a team of consultants, business analysts and SMEs to ensure transition to WD Finance is operational and compliance is upheld. This position will assist both pre and post go-live efforts.
Northeastern is a global university and Provost Research supports its team working remotely. Remote locations and work schedules are determined based on operational needs and in consultation with Team members, consistent with University policies and guidance.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS/BA or related field is required
- 4-6 years work experience required
- WD experience required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Teams, Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Sharepoint, Visio
- Excellent analytical, problem solving skills with a high attention to detail
- Ability to lead and thrive in a fast paced operations group & manage multiple priorities for cross functional initiatives
- Proven customer service skills
- Must be able to work effectively both independently and in a team-oriented environment

- Strong consideration will be given to candidates with a background and/or experience in research finance.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Workday Implementation (50%)
Support the implementation and ongoing development of Workday applications as applicable. Support the team in end to end testing by documenting results, tracking changes to configuration, manage task tickets and ensure configurations are revised and retested as needed. Communicate and validate requirements with relevant collaborators. Troubleshoot system issues and provide technical support to end-users for both pre and post go-live. Ensure data integrity and accuracy within the Workday system. Contribute to WD Finance implementation by providing technical expertise and support.
Develop SOPS and job aids (20%)
Document process changes and improvements based on business development decisions. Develop clear and well-structured SOPS and desk procedures for the transition to WD Finance. Ensure accurate, comprehensive documentation of systems, their respective integration dependencies, as well as system/software dependencies, including but not limited to job aids, training manuals, and video guides.
Process Improvements (20%)
Acquire in-depth knowledge of the business in order to identify opportunities for improving internal processes and driving efficiencies and provide in-depth analysis to end users. Identify and support automation opportunities through Snowflake, Power Automate or other systems. Collaborate with team lead on roadmap planning and workforce optimization.
Special Projects (10%)
Assist and coordinate special projects as required. Support cross functional efforts and provide technical expertise. Support security and access discussions and assist with role assignments post go-live.
