Job Overview
The Director of Virtual Retail Strategy Programs at T-Mobile is tasked with shaping and executing the strategic vision to enhance customer growth and ensure a superior customer experience across sales channels. This role involves developing innovative sales strategies and programs, optimizing operations, and collaborating with third-party suppliers to boost sales performance. Working closely with the Vice President, the Director identifies and addresses financial and operational performance gaps, formulating and implementing corrective actions to achieve established sales targets. The position plays a critical role in team development and performance, fostering an environment that supports continuous improvement and strategic alignment. Through these efforts, the Director significantly contributes to T-Mobile's market leadership and ongoing success in the competitive telecom sector.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Shapes and executes the strategic vision to enhance customer growth and ensure a superior customer experience across sales channels

  • Develops innovative sales strategies and programs to boost sales performance

  • Optimizes operations and collaborates with third-party suppliers to enhance sales effectiveness

  • Identifies and addresses financial and operational performance gaps, formulating and implementing corrective actions

  • Works closely with the Vice President to align strategies to achieve established sales targets

  • Fosters an environment that supports continuous improvement and strategic alignment within the team

  • Establishes and supports strong partnerships cross-functionally with National Care teams, peer Directors in the CECs, Finance, HR and other business stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes


 

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Business, Marketing, or Retail Management (Required)

  • Master's/Advanced Degree Business Administration or Strategic Management (Preferred)

Work Experience:

  • 4-7 years Optimizing sales and care operations while collaborating across teams within the business to maximize sales performance for teams who are located across the nation. (Preferred)

  • 7-10 years Developing and executing strategic sales programs in the telecommunications or related industry (Preferred)

  • 7-10 years Demonstrated servant leadership approach with a maniacal focus on a "frontline first" mindset to support employees who provide a world-class customer experience. (Preferred)

  • More than 10 years Must have 10+ years in senior sales leadership, leading a large and diverse sales organization with a proven track record of success (Preferred)



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strategic Thinking Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective strategies in the competitive telecommunication/technology sector. (Required)

  • Business Acumen Deep understanding of business metrics, financial performance analysis, and market dynamics within the telecom industry. (Required)

  • Leadership Capability to lead and develop teams, fostering an environment that supports continuous improvement and high performance. (Required)

  • Project Management Proficient in managing large-scale projects, aligning them with strategic business goals and ensuring timely delivery. (Preferred)

  • Wireless Technologies Comprehensive knowledge of current and emerging wireless technologies and their applications in retail and sales strategies. (Preferred)

  • Vendor Management Skilled in negotiating with and managing third-party suppliers to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency. (Preferred)

  • Communication Exceptional communication skills, capable of crafting and presenting clear, strategic messages to various stakeholders. (Required)

  • Analytics Strong analytical skills to evaluate business performance data and derive actionable insights. (Required)

  • Program Management Expertise in overseeing multiple programs, ensuring they align with the strategic vision and achieve business objectives. (Preferred)


 

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certified Sales Executive (CSE) Certification that validates expertise in strategic sales management and performance optimization. (Preferred)

  • Certified Business Operations Professional (CBOP): Certification that endorses skills in business operations management, including process optimization and performance improvement, relevant for enhancing operational aspects of sales channels. (Preferred)

Base Pay Range: $172,500 - $233,300

Corporate Bonus Target: 25%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as qualifications and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
