Summary of Job Duties:
A Biostatistician position is available in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at UAMS. This position will provide comprehensive statistics and informatics support to the laboratory of Dr. Alan Tackett, including but not limited to power calculations, proteomics and genomics data analysis, omics integration, manuscript preparation and figure generation.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics or related field PLUS one (1) year of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics or related field.
- Expertise in a statistical programming language, preferably R and/or Python. Expertise with proteomics and genomics data analysis.

Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive analyses of research data, ensuring accurate interpretation and presentation of results.
- Apply appropriate statistical methods tailored to the specific research questions and data structures.
- Develop, debug, and optimize scripts and workflows using programming languages such as R and Python.
- Manage data processing and analysis in Windows and Linux operating system environments.
- Collaborate with researchers to design studies, establish data collection methods, and determine analysis plans.
- Create clear and concise reports, visualizations, and documentation to communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Maintain and update statistical models and programming pipelines to adapt to evolving research needs
