THE OPPORTUNITY
This Senior Project Manager position can work remotely within the U.S.
Manages the development and implementation process of the company's products and services, involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on delivering new or existing products.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Provide project management consultation and mentorship of the various project phases and the deliverables such as: development and execution of the project plan, network diagrams, and the work breakdown structure (WBS); analyzing critical paths; schedule management; resource planning; project budgeting; cost control; quality planning and control; project organizational planning; communications planning; risk identification and control; project performance reviews, project variance analysis, trend analysis, and earned value analysis.
Direct Project Execution: Assigns tasks, tracks project schedules, identifies risks, and develops and executes contingency plans.
Ensure Project Quality: Utilizes standard development methodologies and collaborates with SQA to develop and execute project quality plans.
Communicate Project Status: Prepares standard status reports and participates in departmental and customer project status update meetings.
Resolve Project Issues: Works with team members, project customers, and others to resolve project issues.
Consult and Mentor: Shares project management knowledge with internal project groups and mentors junior project leaders in project management processes and techniques.
Engage in Professional Development: Participates in external project management organizations, conferences, and seminars to stay current with industry best practices, and implements a professional development plan focused on project management.
Influence and Leadership: Understands the business environment and relates extensive knowledge of internal and external technological activities to trends. Interfaces with senior management on significant issues, often requiring coordination across organizational units.
Develop Technical Contributors: Facilitates training and provides feedback and guidance to other technical contributors. May lead a project team and provide technical leadership to business units. Acts as a mentor to less-experienced staff and may supervise other technical employees.
Exercise Independent Judgment: Plans and organizes project assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Initiates or maintains project schedules and milestones, and establishes priorities for individual or project assignments.
Decision Making and Impact: Selects methods and techniques to lead a project to completion. Erroneous decisions or recommendations could result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in related technical field
5-7 years General Business Experience
8-10 years General Project Management Experience
Comprehensive knowledge of a particular technological field. Uses in-depth knowledge of business unit functions and cross-group dependencies/relationships. Recognized as an expert within the work group and across functions.
Ability to performs tasks in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.
Ability to work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Has broad knowledge of various technical alternatives and their potential impact on the business.
