Summary of Job Duties:
UAMS Schmieding Developmental Center is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Speech Language Pathologist to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will work to evaluate the speech and language skills of infants, children, and adolescents from birth to adolescence. The evaluation may be conducted independently, in collaboration with a psychological examiner, or as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The primary objective of this evaluation is to establish initial diagnoses and provide ongoing assessments. Additionally, this position will involve providing second opinions regarding diagnoses and conducting clinical observations regarding the presence or absence of a developmental disability.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's in Communicative Disorders
  • AR License in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence or be eligible
  • Two (2) years of pediatric experience in speech-language evaluations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Communicative Disorders

  • Proficiency in using speech therapy software and technology.
  • Empathy, patience, and adaptability when working with children and families.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing priorities and needs.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
