Position Summary
The Internal Communications Manager is a key member of the Corporate Communications and overall Marketing & Communications team responsible for internal communications and engagement programming for one of the country’s top professional services companies. Core functions of the role include ideating, designing, developing, measuring and supporting internal communications content, channels processes, programs and deliverables, with a focus on digitally enabled content and tools. Areas of oversight include internal event support including producing global and business line town halls, end-to-end internal communications campaigns, the company’s intranet and various other communications tools and platforms (newsletters, videos, etc.).

What will you do in this role?    
  • Work in collaboration with the company’s Senior Director of Corporate Communications, Corporate Communications team and broader Marketing & Communications function/team
  • Serve as ambassador for the company’s Employee Value Proposition, ensuring all internal communications efforts ladder back to and underscore the EVP
  • Support the origination, development, design and dissemination of compelling and engaging communications content, programs and strategic initiatives through company-wide emails, newsletters, video messages, reports, internal events, etc
  • Support the Corporate Communications team in design tasks/projects for various communications channels, such as internal and social media
  • Support writing projects for various campaigns and internal communications needs
  • End-to-end strategic communication campaign project planning and working with a variety of internal stakeholders on internal communications projects and campaigns
  • Help plan, support and synthesize employee engagement polls and surveys and ensure the function is embracing and acting on key learnings from those survey results
  • Lead and manage the integrated internal communications campaigns/editorial calendar to ensure thoughtful, proactive planning, consistency and alignment of internal communication activities across the company
  • Maintain a pulse on, and implement as necessary, best practices in employee engagement to drive continuous optimization and improvement of the function
  • Monitor all employee engagement analytics and report on insights and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Manage and maintain the company’s intranet and any other digital tools we deploy for employee engagement purposes; stay abreast of trends and emerging tech driving successful engagement with these tools. For the intranet:
    • Lead efforts to create and maintain sound site navigation and information architecture
    • Manage the homepage and various subpages
    • Ensure proper externally facing brand elements are followed throughout the intranet design and structure
    • Oversee authoring and proper use of online channels for official company news
What do you need to succeed in this role?    
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications or related field
  • Minimum eight (8) years of relevant experience in PR, corporate and/or internal communications, change management or talent-focused project management supporting internal communications and related platforms
  • Must be an exceptional writer and editor. Familiarity with AP Style writing guidelines is desirable.
  • Best-in-class content planning, forecasting and campaign management skills
  • Experience developing and leveraging digital experiences to successfully engage an employee audience and foster two-way communication across a large, complex organization is desirable
  • Experience supporting large- and small-scale event planning and logistics (for internal company events)
  • Strong organization and internal stakeholder management skills
  • Appreciation for deadline-driven work and the ability to guide key stakeholders through projects
  • Familiarity with internal communications tools, the SharePoint framework and Office 365
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, with strong skills in InDesign and Photoshop, to create high-quality designs and visual content for both internal and external (social media) graphics, while consistently upholding brand guidelines to ensure cohesive and on-brand messaging
