The role:

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in delivering actionable insights and driving strategic decisions across the organization. With a focus on financial data and business intelligence, you will leverage advanced analytics techniques to support key business objectives, optimize processes, and uncover trends that shape future initiatives.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of data analysis projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, actionable insights.
  • Own and manage key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving actionable insights. Lead regular root-cause analyses to identify underlying issues and implement strategic improvements.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize data models and ETL processes to support analytical needs.
  • Advanced statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques are used to analyze complex datasets and identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for data solutions.
  • Oversee data quality and integrity, implementing best data governance and management practices.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Participate in sprint-related meetings such as standups, grooming, retrospectives, and roadmap replenishment.
  • Advocate for flexible, domain-driven solutions that balance expediency with long-term flexibility.
  • Conduct code reviews, ensure best practices are followed, and continuously improve the data analysis processes and methodologies.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in data analysis and business intelligence.

Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of proven experience in data analysis, with a strong focus on financial data and business intelligence in a professional services environment.
  • 3+ years of experience leading data analysis projects and teams, demonstrating strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other data analysis and scripting languages.
  • Extensive experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Expertise in data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of statistical analysis, significance testing, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques.
  • Strong skills in business requirements analysis, technical design, and implementation of data-driven solutions. 
  • Excellent business analytics skills, capable of understanding and translating business processes into data requirements.
  • Deep understanding of core KPIs within a tech company and the levers/tactics that impact such
    metrics.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working in agile / kanban teams, participating in sprints, continuous delivery, code reviews, and other aspects of the modern software delivery lifecycle (SDLC).
