OVERVIEW:
The User Interface Designer - eCommerce is an essential part of a passionate and customer-centric Content Team, focused on best-in-class product page (PDP) set-up for an optimal on-site experience. This role will be a major contributor to driving PDP engagement, conversion, and revenue while maintaining a strong brand voice and opinion.
As the successful candidate, you will have a thorough understanding of UI and UX best practices and know the fundamentals of web design. You will be expected to develop the overall aesthetic and creative execution of DICK’s Sporting Goods online content in keeping with our strong brand ethos, leveraging your comprehensive knowledge of industry trends, cross-functional partnerships, and your own opinion on brand voice. You will understand cross-platform/responsive design and have the ability to create positive user experiences for any device, seeing and owning the end-to-end journey and consistently iterating based on outcome. You will have an appreciation for intuitive and usable content display and have a “mobile-first” mentality. Solid skills in digital art direction, a good eye for typography, clean layout, purposeful color, and attention to detail are a must. Must have a strong eye for impactful imagery and proven ability to translate concepts into compelling on-site experiences.
As a member of eCommerce you will help with our UI and Digital Art Direction efforts including branding, research, strategy, visual design, and guidelines creation and maintenance. This role will focus on elevating the Vertical Brands experience on Product Pages. A track record of strong partnering skills is essential, as you will collaborate closely with content managers, front-end developers, UX designers and researchers, product managers, brand managers and category merchandisers, bringing a variety of thoughts and concepts together into one cohesive on-site execution.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Work with a cross-disciplinary team, inclusive of eCommerce Content team, Category Merchandising team, Vertical Brands team, and Technology Product teams, to design pixel perfect display solutions for DICK’s Sporting Goods online properties including all platforms - desktop, tablet, mobile, and app.
Leverage the digital art direction and execution of omni-channel initiatives to enable a seamless online experience that brings this to life through engaging and intuitive content across the product pages (PDPs) on our webstores, increasing customer interaction and conversion rates.
Be responsible for the design of product pages (PDP) enhanced content, inclusive of ‘below-the-fold’ design strategies that combine detailed product descriptions with inspirational media into a seamless, engaging athlete experience, and other special projects.
Work closely with Content Managers, Product Managers and Category Merchandisers, and bring ideas and user-testing strategies to the table, to help define customer needs and translate those into concepts and execution for compelling and impactful interactions that best present products’ unique attributes.
Effectively analyze and communicate on customer interaction with PDP enhanced content, inclusive of ‘below-the-fold’ inspirational descriptions and imagery, leveraging results to consistently iterate for a best-in-class customer experience
Be a steward for our brand guidelines and establish design-related brand and web usability standards to ensure consistently high result across product pages as program is scaled and implemented among different brands and areas of business.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree
3-5 years of experience
An online portfolio that has examples of digital creative and UI work
Experience designing & executing outstanding web-based and mobile products
Experience designing for multiple devices and responsive design
Experience with adobe Experience Manager is a plus
Experience collaborating cross-functionally
High level of proficiency in digital design programs including but not limited to Adobe CS, with expert skills in Photoshop and Illustrator
Knowledge of UI/UX tools such as InVision and Axure
Experience creating design systems, product guidelines, and brand guidelines
Possess a thorough understanding of user-centered design principles, visual trends and emerging web technologies, current UI and UX mobile design patterns, and RWD/adaptive best practices
Knowledge of eCommerce best practices, digital art direction, web design, and essential graphic design theory
Familiarity with basic front-end web development, (XHTML, CSS, and JS) and a clear understanding of what is and isn’t possible online
Presentation and client relationship skills

Targeted Pay Range: $54,600.00 - $90,900.00. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include other components such as: incentive, equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
