The opportunity

As an Instructional Designer, you'll work with subject matter experts and cross-departmental partners in the design, development, and on-time delivery of high-quality learning experiences. You'll participate in decisions related to learning design, ensuring that experiences meet the specifications of the degree program and follow institutional expectations for thoughtfulness, quality, scalability, and the success needs of our students, faculty, and student support staff. You will report to the Assistant Director of Learning Design.

What you'll do:

  • Design and develop high-quality, technically complex, scalable online learning experiences in collaboration with academic partners and subject matter experts, managing the schedule and quality of each project and associated deliverables
  • Design high-quality and valid assessments to assess evidence of learning for both formative and summative performances using backward design methodology
  • Author clear, aligned, and psychometrically valid assessment questions and scoring rubrics
  • Contribute to ongoing quality assurance reviews and participate in data-informed assessments of learning experiences to identify, report, and resolve areas of improvement in instructional clarity, engagement, and learning pathways
  • Independently manage multiple project timelines and available resources while driving towards ongoing process efficiencies in instructional design efforts
  • Apply instructional design skills, current learning theories, and knowledge of learning technologies and environments to the design of high-quality learning experiences across varied delivery modalities
  • Manage the sub-production of multi-media in the production of learning experiences, including scoping, conceptualizing, scripting, and quality reviewing multimedia assets
  • Make informed recommendations on changes and adjustments to learning experiences using performance data, quality review feedback, and instructor and student feedback
  • Follow our standards for learning experience build specifications within the LMS and experimenting with new standards and building in collaboration with LMS experts

Compensation

The annual pay range for this position is $51,608.00 - $82,590.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $57,027.00 - $77,155.00.
