Volvo Autonomous Solutions (V.A.S) is a separate entity within the Volvo Group with the mission to offer transport solutions never seen before. Together we will work on autonomous solutions that will challenge conventions and take us to the future. With entirely new business models and advanced technology, we will meet and exceed expectations from customers and contribute to the society that we want to live in. There are about 400 of us and together we form a team that is stronger than the sum of its parts and is ready to tackle the big challenges we have ahead of us.


The transport industry is facing a transformation and Volvo Autonomous Solutions has the ambition to take a leading role in this transformation. Together with our customers, partners, suppliers, and authorities, we want to build the future eco-system of the transport industry. There is an increasing need for transport and movement of goods between logistic centers and additional transport solutions will be needed. By leading this transformation and creating alternative transport solutions Volvo Autonomous Solutions will contribute to creating a society we all want to live in. 


The Hub-to-Hub highway segment is one of Volvo Autonomous Solutions' top prioritized segments and our current mission is to employ the newest member of our US team. In other words, we are looking for you, our new Solution Sales Manager for the Hub-to-Hub segment!

What you will do

 


V.A.S. is a start-up within an OEM and the Autonomous Transport Solution (ATS) is our go-to-market solution and offers fully integrated autonomous freight capacity for the North American market. As our Solution Sales Manager, you will be part of the transformation of the transport industry.


You will be responsible for :


•    Securing new business from companies currently not using the ATS to increase Volvo Autonomous Solutions' market share.
•    Develop a sales penetration plan 
•    Manage customer interactions like prospecting, qualifying, eliciting new business, and deal closure.
•    Earn the trust of customers and recommend a solution that fits their business needs.
•    Focus on selling the ATS through face-to-face and remote interactions.
•    Use a consultative solution sales approach to secure new business. 
•    Maintain regular and consistent contact with customers to meet customer requirements.  
•    Present Volvo Autonomous Solutions and the ATS to customers. 
•    Develop a complete understanding of customers' business, goals, and objectives. 
•    Serve as a facilitator between customers and Volvo Autonomous Solutions departments or our partners. 
•    Be highly involved in Marketing and Communication activities
•    Collaborate with the business development team to forecast pricing, business plans, and customer strategy. 
•    Onboard new customers effectively to hand them off to the operations team.
•    Administrate the Customer Relationship Management and report customer success KPIs

 
 

Who are you?

We are looking for a candidate who is dynamic, highly motivated, reliable, and who understands and appreciates the importance of a team effort to achieve goals. What you will be working with is completely new and requires a new way of thinking, you need to be creative and dare to step out of the box. You’re also a proactive and driven person, we want you to take lead and ownership in your area. You are ideally interested in gaining an understanding of new technology and sustainability to be able to integrate these topics successfully into the sales plan.


We believe you have the following skills:


•    Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or related field
•    Minimum of five years of progressive experience in Sales/Sales Management specifically selling to transport purchasers.
•    In-depth knowledge and understanding of the logistics and transportation industry.
•    Strong client relations skills; including excellent communication skills, service orientation, and cooperation to resolve customer and company problems.
•    Strong presentation skills.
•    Exceptional negotiation skills.
•    Expert use of MS Office Suite, CRMs, and sales and marketing automation tools.
•    Availability to travel.
