The Commercial division is Allianz Australia's largest distribution channel whose customers include Commercial, Corporate and international buyer groups throughout Australia.

 

We are currently looking for a Liability Underwriter to join our Commercial team to work on complex mid-market/ corporate accounts and provide an exemplary level of service to our broker partners.

 

It will be your responsibility to:

  • Taking technical/ underwriting ownership of the more complex liability renewals and on new business opportunities.

  • Managing workflows (renewals, endorsements, new business etc) to ensure delivery of quality of services and products.

  • Ensuring business offering is aligned with divisional objectives, portfolio balance and cycle management strategies (growth & profit).

  • Keeping abreast of market conditions and trends, and maintain a market presence.

  • Providing feedback to stakeholders and take action to capitalise on business opportunities.

  • Underwriting with adherence to underwriting guidelines whilst actively managing the portfolio and applying remediation to stressed accounts  

 

Important to your success:

  • Demonstrated experience in Underwriting liability or multiple lines of commercial business with a detailed understanding of account and reinsurance structures.

  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands.

  • Build collaborative relationships with key intermediaries to position AAL as the market leader

  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant regulatory and/ or legislative compliance requirements.

  • Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends and links that inform judgments and solutions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with clarity, impact and influence.
