What are we looking for?
We’re seeking a skilled Trust Accountant to manage and oversee trust account operations. Your focus will be on maintaining compliance, setting up efficient payment processes, and ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and integrity in financial transactions.
What are you expected to do?
As a Trust Accountant, you’ll play a critical role in the firm’s financial operations, including:
- Trust Accounting Management:
- Oversee and manage trust accounts in compliance with Australian legal and regulatory requirements.
- Reconcile trust accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Payment Processes:
- Consolidate payment supporting documentation into a single, comprehensive payment file.
- Set up EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) payments efficiently within the client banking system.
- Financial Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of all trust account activities.
- Provide regular reports on trust account status and compliance metrics to internal and external stakeholders.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Monitor and ensure adherence to Australian trust account regulations, including any updates or changes to legal requirements.
- Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies as needed to demonstrate compliance.

You’ll be a great fit if:
- You have 5 years of experience in Trust Accounting
- You have proven experience in trust accounting, particularly in an Australian law firm setting.
- You possess strong knowledge of Australian trust accounting regulations and compliance requirements.
- You are proficient in managing EFT payments and client banking systems.
- You have excellent organizational skills with an eye for detail in consolidating payment documentation.
- You communicate clearly and effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
We will be absolutely thrilled if you also have the following:
- You are familiar with trust account auditing processes and procedures.
- You hold relevant financial or accounting qualifications (e.g., CPA or equivalent).
- You have experience with trust accounting software and other legal financial systems.

What happens after you submit your application?
The whole process takes around 4 weeks:
- There will be 3-4 interviews and a possible assessment from our client partner. You will undergo an initial interview, a culture interview, and 1-2 interviews with our cool client. This will run for about 1-2 weeks but we will let you know if we need to ramp it up. Be yourself and have fun.
- We will constantly communicate with you as to the development of your application. You can also directly communicate with us to ask us about the status of your application.
- If all goes well, we complete the reference check and provide other necessary requirements so we can offer you the job right away.
