Job description

Role: QA Lead
Position Type: Full-Time Contract (40hrs/week)
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Work Hours: US Time
Work Schedule: 8 hours/day (Mon-Fri)
Location: 100% Remote (Candidates can work from anywhere in LATAM countries)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead QA to join our client's dynamic E-Commerce team. The Lead QA will play a crucial role in defining the testing strategy, leading the QA team, and ensuring the quality of our products through comprehensive testing processes. This position is vital for maintaining the high standards of our on-board applications and customer-facing apps, ensuring that our users have a seamless and reliable experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in quality assurance, automation testing, and defect management, along with leadership capabilities to guide a diverse team of QA professionals.

Responsibilities:

As the Lead QA, you will be responsible for the following key tasks and objectives:

  • Define Testing Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive testing strategy that aligns with the overall project goals and ensures the delivery of high-quality software products.
  • Lead the QA Team: Manage and mentor a team of QA professionals, including both manual and automation testers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Quality Assurance Processes: Establish and maintain QA processes, methodologies, and best practices to ensure thorough testing coverage and defect identification.
  • Automation Testing: Oversee the development and execution of automated test scripts, ensuring that automation is effectively integrated into the testing process.
  • Defect Management: Implement a robust defect management process, including tracking, reporting, and prioritizing defects to ensure timely resolution.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Scrum Master, Business Analyst, Technical Lead, and development team to ensure alignment on project requirements and timelines.
  • Performance Testing: (Nice to have) Lead efforts in performance testing to ensure applications can handle expected loads and provide a smooth user experience.
  • CI/CD Integration: (Nice to have) Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate testing processes into the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring continuous quality throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Agile Testing: (Nice to have) Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to the Agile testing approach, ensuring that testing is integrated into the development process.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on testing progress, quality metrics, and team performance to stakeholders.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following skills:

Must-Have Skills:

  • Test Strategy: Proven experience in defining and implementing effective testing strategies that ensure comprehensive coverage and quality assurance throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Automation Testing: Strong expertise in automation testing tools and frameworks, with a track record of developing and executing automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Defect Management: In-depth knowledge of defect management processes, including the ability to track, prioritize, and communicate defects effectively to ensure timely resolution.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Performance Testing: Familiarity with performance testing tools and methodologies, with the ability to assess application performance under various load conditions and identify bottlenecks.
  • CI/CD Integration: Experience with integrating testing processes into CI/CD pipelines, utilizing tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes to automate testing and deployment processes.
  • Agile Testing: Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience in Agile testing practices, including participation in sprints, stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure quality is maintained throughout the development process.
