WHY YOU WILL BE EXCITED ABOUT THIS ROLE

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Engineer to join our team. This role can be based in either Brisbane or Sydney (candidates located in Brisbane will be highly regarded). You will be working with and learning from a team of highly experienced engineers and providing support to them through all phases of the project lifecycle.

Initially working on one of our most complex projects to date, Dematic is delivering a state-of-the-art warehouse and logistics automation project for one of Dematic’s global blue-chip clients with a project value in the mid-billion AUD. This major project contains 80,000 sqm of automated storage and retrieval systems (conveyer, racking, robotics) and will be executed from 2024 to 2028. Dematic will deliver the automation fit-out from in-house design (mechanical, electrical, controls and software) to completion, including installation, commissioning and testing to handover.

This role will be office based for 4 days per week for the first 3 months, transitioning to 1-2 days per weeks after 6 months.

Tasks and Qualifications:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide support to the Mechanical Engineering & Design team
  • Perform product design and testing for internal product development
  • Design and install drawings for the projects (eg on various equipment such as Dematic multi-shuttle, pallet conveyor, carton conveyor)
  • To review and develop mechanical design at system and component level with consideration of safe operation, the environment and product/system sustainability

ABOUT YOU – WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
  • Strong mechanical design capability
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor and Solidworks
  • Competent in use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong internet connection for optimal work from home setup
