Job description

LTS is seeking a SQA Tester to provide SQA testing support to the Health Services Portfolio Technical Management and Strategic Solutioning Support (HTMS) program within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Information and Technology (OIT).

Qualifications And Responsibilities

  • Ensure requirements traceability to legally binding requirements.
  • Use JIRA for Change, Configuration, Requirements, and Test Case and Results management
  • Assist development of test procedures, test cases (frontend, backend, and integration), test plans, requirements traceability, schedules, and test reports.
  • Maintain the SQA Test Artifacts in JIRA.
  • Assist the VA test lead to coordinate, execute, document, and report on test activities required to support the release of product functionality.
  • Coordinate, execute, document, and report on test activities required to support the integration of product functionality with consuming applications.
  • Review and execute product test plans and scripts.
  • Work with VA test lead, development teams and Project Managers to resolve test defects.
  • Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment to ensure that the product will perform to specifications.
  • Coordinate with developers, end users and organizations to create test plans and test scripts, plan test events, track problems and reports on errors that are identified, and assist with the defect database. Automated testing may be used for leveling based on hiring manager discretion.
  • Coordinate with test sites and other team participants to plan test events.
  • Develop testing procedures, test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests.
  • Implements the testing processes and ensures all test activities follow those processes. Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics.
  • Monitors for continual test process improvement through failure analysis, throughput analysis, yield analysis, and report to management periodically.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations Research, or related fields plus 3-5 years of experience in planning, implementing, and executing software testing processes. *Five years of additional relevant experience is required in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
  • Must have experience with VistA scheduling applications and web-based applications, JIRA software and building test scripts.
  • Must have a clear understanding between functional, and regression testing.
  • Must have exposure to DevOps model and experience with running test cases using tools such as SOAP UI, and Selenium.
  • Experience with VA legacy systems (e.g., VistA) is required.
  • Must be detail oriented and highly organized.
  • Must possess leadership skills and experience.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess the ability to explain intricate and complicated concepts and ideas.
  • Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as Information Technology Testing tools.
  • Proficient in GitHub, JIRA, SOAP UI, and HL7.
  • Experience with VA or other Federal Agencies preferred.
