Position Summary:

The Intermediate Accountant will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting and tax services to our clients. This position involves preparing financial statements and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Australian accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing annual financial statements for companies and trusts.
  • Preparing income tax returns and Business Activity Statements.
  • Assisting with payroll services.
  • Contributing to Tax Planning Figures and Analysis.
  • Handling ATO client correspondence and queries.
  • Staying updated on tax law changes and anticipating new ones through tax research.
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of financial reports.
  • Continuously improving accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Participating in professional development activities to stay current with industry trends and best practices.

Skills & Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience in Australian public accounting, with a focus on tax preparation and financial statement preparation.
  • Proficiency in accounting software Xero.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong client service orientation and interpersonal skills.
