We are an aspiring organisation, and we are looking for equally bold and creative Connected Car Technical Regulatory Engineer to join our dynamic and growing Connected Car team.

The role

We are seeking a Connected Car Technical Regulatory Engineer to be based at Nissan Technical Centre Europe, Cranfield to manage all aspects of ACEA activities.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

As a Connected Car Technical Regulatory Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in representing Nissan within the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA). Your responsibilities will include:

  • Regulatory expertise: Deepen your understanding of European regulations governing the automotive sector, particularly those related to vehicle safety, the environment and green energy.

  • ACEA Participation: Actively participate in ACEA meetings, representing Nissan's interests and contributing to discussions with other OEMs.

  • Issue identification and development: Identifying issues of interest to Nissan, developing our position on these issues and advocating them within the European automotive industry.

  • Information gathering and analysis: Gather and analyse information relevant to Nissan's interests from ACEA meetings and understand the positions and perspectives of other OEMs.

  • Key Takeaway Identification: Identify key takeaways from meetings and propose actionable steps for Nissan to achieve ACEA's objectives.

  • Reporting: Prepare concise reports summarising meeting discussions, data points, conclusions, recommended approaches and actionable items for Nissan management.

  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Serve as an internal bridge between Nissan departments, fostering collaboration and consensus on strategies to achieve ACEA goals.

  • Industry Trend Monitoring: Staying abreast of industry trends and developments related to ACEA activities, analysing and interpreting their implications.

Qualifications required:

  • Completed a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the automotive industry or a related field.

  • Detail-oriented, strong analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Ability to summarize complex information concisely and accurately in MS tools.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to listen to and steer discussions to find consensus and compromise amongst competing parties

  • Very good communication and networking skills. Capability to describe complex technical/ regulatory requirements to non-experts.

  • Familiarity with the European automotive industry (a plus).

  • Prior experience with ACEA or similar industry associations (a plus).
