Purpose
This is a 2-year Research & Development graduate program with a 2025 start date, but it's not about sitting on the side-lines. You'll be a valued member of the team from day one, gaining hands-on experience and working alongside industry experts.

We are seeking a Wiring Harness Graduate Engineer to be based at Nissan Technical Centre Europe, Cranfield to design and develop vehicle Wiring Harnesses and associated components for European models that will meet Nissan Design & Test standards.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
Working as part of a team to design and development Wiring Harnesses for new & current European Models.
Working cross functionally with Design, Test, Purchase & Manufacturing Departments to ensure the Harness design is optimised to achieve the required Quality & Cost performance levels.
Project management of suppliers to deliver products to meet Quality, Cost and Timing targets.
For a successful candidate the role will provide:
Training in the development vehicle electrical system circuits.
Training in the layout of the wiring harness digitally in 3D CAD and in physically on vehicles to comply Nissan Design Standards.
Opportunity to design and develop metal and plastic brackets/fixings.
How to manage and apply complex wiring harness variants into the vehicle Bill Of Material.
Opportunity to develop project management and time management skills.
Exposure to working with and visiting European & North African wiring harness manufacturers.
Opportunities to travel to Nissan vehicle assembly plant and to support trial builds, cost reduction and quality events.
Development of Component Cost Estimation and Lead Time Estimation.
The opportunity to interface with all other Design sections, Test sections, Quality sections, Purchase and Production engineering roles across the Alliance.
Entry Requirements
You must hold or expect to achieve the following qualification(s): Undergraduate or Postgraduate Degree graded 2:1 or above in a relevant field.
Sufficient evidence of your right to work in the UK will be required. Your right to work in the UK or VISA must extend until September 2027 in order for you to qualify for this position.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate should have the following skills or experience:
Basic understanding of electrical theory and/or vehicle electrical systems
Basic understanding of plastic part & metal bracket design and manufacture
Ability to plan and manage own workload
IT literate, competent user of all Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook.

Competitive base salary starting at £33,904
