The Marketplaces Strategist plays a pivotal role in orchestrating and optimizing online presence within diverse marketplace ecosystems. Leveraging a profound understanding of platforms like Amazon, Walmart, and others, they craft and execute strategic campaigns tailored to client objectives. Armed with data analysis skills, they interpret trends, uncover insights, and drive impactful decisions to enhance brand visibility and drive sales. With a focus on client relationship management and cross-functional collaboration, they navigate complexities, foster innovation, and ensure alignment with overarching marketing goals. In a dynamic digital landscape, the Marketplaces Strategist is instrumental in delivering measurable results and propelling businesses towards sustained success.

As the Marketplaces Strategist you will:

  • Client Management and Communication: Utilize excellent communication skills, both on the phone and over email, to cultivate strong working relationships with clients and partners, ensuring effective collaboration and understanding.

  • Marketing Campaign Management: Leverage a keen understanding of the Marketplace ecosystem to lead, build, drive, and optimize successful marketing campaigns across various platforms including Amazon Ad Console, DSP, and other Marketplaces like Walmart and Target.

  • Strategic Leadership: Demonstrate accountability and ownership by proactively evaluating creative solutions tailored to each client’s unique business objectives and challenges.

  • Reporting and Analysis: Implement daily reporting to support clients’ KPIs, confidently interpreting trends, and making data-driven recommendations based on digital marketing analytics in the marketplace sphere.

  • Stay Informed of Vertical Trends: Tie in comprehensive knowledge of vertical and categorical trends, understanding their impact on the overall narrative within the marketplace.

  • Regular Client Performance Reviews: Conduct weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly calls to review trends, performance metrics, and provide innovative advertising strategies to drive optimal results.

  • Identifying Opportunities and Innovation:Proactively identify new marketing opportunities and ways to repurpose existing strategies on Amazon and other platforms to optimize brand awareness and drive sales volume, both on and off Amazon.

  • Mentorship and Coaching: Provide coaching, mentorship, and delegate tasks to junior team members on joint accounts where you serve as lead, facilitating professional growth and development within the team.

  • Strategy Development and Execution: Develop and execute comprehensive retail media strategies tailored to each client, ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving impactful results across platforms and retailers.

Professional Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of distinguished experience in Amazon Advertising, paid eCommerce, senior media planning, or equivalent roles, demonstrating a profound understanding of marketplace dynamics and strategies.

  • Proficiency in data analytics and strategy, showcasing the ability to derive insights and drive impactful decisions.

  • Exceptional project management skills honed to precision, coupled with mastery of tools such as Wrike, Excel, and Google Tools (including email, drive, and data studio).

  • Demonstrated client-facing expertise, adept at navigating diverse client needs and personalities while maintaining professionalism and rapport.

  • Innate curiosity and problem-solving acumen, with a penchant for uncovering answers to undocumented questions.

  • Prior agency experience, providing a robust foundation in navigating multifaceted client environments and demands.

  • Bachelor's Degree obtained, underscoring academic prowess and dedication to continuous learning and development.

  • Proven leadership experience, showcasing the ability to lead teams and foster cross-functional collaboration across all levels of an organization.

  • Additional experience across diverse marketplaces such as Criteo, Walmart, Instacart, among others, adding depth and breadth to your expertise.

  • Operational proficiency, exemplifying hands-on experience in executing and optimizing operational processes within a dynamic environment.

  • Extensive experience in integrated media planning and strategy, demonstrating a holistic approach to campaign execution and optimization.
