About the Team

The Elite Client & Sponsorship team is responsible for the management and delivery of revenue generating products across the MWC and M360 events portfolio. Working closely with the Sales Team, Heads of Events and delivery teams, the team will ensure client satisfaction across current products and programmes and turn new concepts and into viable and continuous revenue generating activities.

The team works proactively to help customers gain the most value from their investment by establishing long term relationships and acting as trusted advisors.

About the Role

As the Sponsorship Delivery Manager you will be the overall point person, client manager, and subject matter expert for sponsorship products and programmes across the GSMA events portfolio. Using a collaborative working approach, you'll lead the development, implementation, and on-site delivery of a sponsorship products and programmes ensuring client satisfaction and achievement of programme KPIs. This role will see you be accountable for:

  • Lead cross-functional, virtual teams in matrix environment, ensuring flawless execution of sponsor programmes

  • Manage sponsors from initial introduction throughout event cycle, reporting, and provide best-in-class client relationship

  • Lead development of new sponsorship opportunities, discovering innovative ways to reach our client goals and objectives (capture, scope, validate and obtain sign off of new products)

  • Create sponsorship inventory, standardise language throughout all contractual deliverables that clearly define GSMA commitments

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders – Sponsorship Sales, Programme Office, Operations, Marketing, Brand, Digital, PR, Content to identify new ways to optimise sponsorship delivery

  • Ensure that contractual points are agreed internally and inventories are accessible and tracked via sponsorship platform/salesforce.com

  • Ensure all deliverables are assigned and actioned via the Salesforce/bespoke sponsorship online system developed by the GSMA, and carried out by the delivery teams

  • Improve processes, implement best practices and identify efficiencies to workflow and systems to maximize the quality standards of sponsorship products

  • Attain client sign off ahead of production deadlines within the timeframes set out by the various internal GSMA department delivery of the contractual rights for GSMA sponsors - provide progress reports to each client for the various milestones of their sponsorship

  • Weekly reporting of key issues /milestones (project, operational and financial) to the Senior Sponsorship Manager


About You

  • Business-to-Business relationship and campaign management experience is an essential as well as knowledge and understanding of events, partnerships and sponsorship programmes.

  • You will be a confident, tenacious relationship builder and problem solver taking responsibility for an extensive sponsor portfolio.

  • You will need to demonstrate business acumen, commercial awareness and ability to build excellent client relationships.

  • You will need to be considerate in your communication tailoring the style to your audience, be flexible in your approach by adapting to the different ways in which teams work and show an awareness of cultural differences.

  • You are a strong team player who is passionate, quality driven, CRM systems savvy and self-motivated.

  • You will need a strong understanding of SalesForce, Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge in social networking, such as: LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Wechat and Weibo are helpful.
