About the role

The Manager of Practical Guidance Operations exists to lead a team responsible for the currentness and upkeep of the Practical Guidance content portfolio. This position leads the Practical Guidance Editorial Operations team and collaborates with commercial partners (LNNAUK), offshore teams (REPH), product teams, and other key stakeholders to ensure content currency and operational metric targets are met. This position drives strategic initiatives relating to operational effectiveness, content readiness, product enhancement, and experimentation, while establishing and enforcing best practices across Practical Guidance. Additionally, this role works with the team and cross-functional partners to identify and drive solutions and efficiencies that can be applied to support business strategies, improve end-to-end processes, and promote customer satisfaction.  

Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership, support, and guidance to staff, regarding maintenance, processing, and enhancements of Practical Guidance content.

  • Hires, develops, motivates and manages performance of a Practical Guidance Operations team.

  • Drives and directly supports the PG content maintenance processes to ensure product currency goals are met; including, but not limited to, author and contractor management, legal research, content editing / remediation, quality assurance, and continuous updating.

  • Develops relationships with commercial partners and strategizes/collaborates on shared objectives.   

  • Allocates and manages team resources effectively and appropriately to meet product, scheduling and customer needs. 

  • Identifies and leads operational efficiency opportunities to evolve and improve PG processes in support of the business strategy.

  • Leads and supports projects using lean-agile approaches to support cross-functional business growth.

  • Seeks opportunities for global efficiencies and solutions where possible.

  • Enforces best practices across PG and proactively addresses concerns.

  • Coordinates product and content initiatives across Practical Guidance.

  • Actively builds and utilizes an extensive network across the company, and acts as a liaison between LNNAUK, GTO, REPH and domestic/offshore vendors.

Requirements:

  • JD or MBA or equivalent experience required.

  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience managing products, process, and change.

  • Practical Guidance experience a plus.

  • Leadership skills reflecting initiative, adaptability, and independent decision making/problem solving.

  • Leadership skills reflecting the ability to work collaboratively, influence others, and build positive relationships for the purpose of advancing organizational goals.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, with excellent time and project management skills.

  • Superior writing, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate to team members, and to set team goals and priorities to reflect the company’s objectives.

  • Ability to contribute to the re-engineering of workflow processes and tools improvements, with a strong understanding of Agile methodology preferred.

  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence and project success in a team environment.

  • Strong negotiation skills required and demonstrated growth mindset.
