We have an incredible opportunity to join our Remote Services team as a Lead Advanced Nurse Practitioner. As a Lead Advanced Nurse Practitioner at Bupa, you will provide leadership and support for the Remote Advanced Nurse Practitioner team, working collaboratively with other members of the management team to ensure provision of high standards of clinical practice and customer service within the Remote ANP setting.
Delivery of Remote Advanced Nurse Practitioner primary care services.
Provide clinical input into the review of customer feedback comments, complaints, incidents, and risks.
Oversee the provision of Remote Advanced Nurse Practitioner primary care services within remote services.
To partner with the Bupa Resource team or local administrative team, and service line managers with diary management and scheduling for clinical requirements.
If issues arise (identified either by you or a member of your team) then to investigate, ensuring clinical safety is always upheld.
Conduct relevant clinical audits as per the as Quality Team audit schedule.
Lead on the implementation of clinical policies and procedures with instruction and guidance from the Clinical Leadership Team.
Ensure the BHC prescribing policy is well understood and adhered to within the ANP team.
Act as a key stakeholder to support the service and the ANP’s to prepare for CQC visits.
Act as a key advisory and support point to staff within your team– ensure clinical guidance is provided to all colleagues as and when required.
Lead on the delivery of mock scenarios and emergency clinical procedures remotely and where applicable.
Support the remote manager and remote support team to drive Remote ANP performance – the role holder is required to understand the remote AOP and to actively support the remote manager with the achievement of business and financial targets.
Provide support for Bupa Anytime Healthline during working hours when requested.
In exceptional circumstances provide emergency clinical delivery when needed.
Responsible for sharing communications with the ANP team in the most appropriate way locally.
Encourage learning and development in your ANP team, including CPD and training according to individual development needs and aspirations.
Arrange an ANP team meeting monthly, either in person or remotely, ensuring all ANP’s and heads of department are invited and circulate minutes within 10 working days to all ANP’s and remote team manager.
Mentor and discuss performance with the ANP team as individuals regularly (for example monthly 121’s for eligible staff) drawing on support from peers and the remote manager.
Work with fellow clinical leads (incl. other Lead Nurses, Lead Physicians & ACD’s) to share best practice and support colleagues in their roles.
Act as a key stakeholder in monthly clinical lead meetings /calls, as organised by Associate Clinical Directors for your region.
Approve the clinical subject content of study leave for ANP.
Organise CPD activity within the team on a quarterly basis.
Support the Clinical Leadership team with wider CPD events, in attending and at times delivering sessions when requested.
Work on delegated projects such as policy writing, audit design, clinical member in governance groups.
Support ANP team with their revalidation with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, as required.
Arrange notes audits, and annual clinical reviews in alignment with the clinical review policy and NMC Revalidation requirements.
Engage in incident reporting and investigation as outlined in our BHC incident Management and reporting policy.
Support remote operational manager in management of complaints as per Bupa policy. Escalate to senior colleagues where appropriate.
Carry out cross service/ location investigations with an independent practitioner if required.
To be aware of their responsibilities from the NMC Code of Conduct.
Work with the Bupa recruitment team to determine competency of new candidates.
Provide a full and complete clinical induction to train new ANP’s into the service.
Manage a team comprised of salaried & locum ANP’s (requirements for each of these ANP’s differs and only employed fall under Bupa people policies).
Monitor and act on ANP performance data, customer feedback and failsafe reports.
Partner with the remote manager on people management issues relating to ANP’s which may include liaising with the Employment Relations (ER) Team where there are performance, absence, capability, and conduct concerns.
Monitor and have full oversight of ANP results management within remote services; resolve queries and assist with outstanding clinical work arising from local results tracking systems.
Implement a local system to ensure the Results Management policy is adhered to, ensuring urgent findings and results are dealt with in a timely and appropriate way.
Ensure systems are in place to manage results when ANP’s are absent.
Carry out monthly failsafe reporting and further results management as required.
