Job description

Here at Capita we have an exciting opening in our Capita Public Service growth team for a Market Development Lead, partnering with one of our most high profile clients in the public sector you will be responsible for growing the relationship that Capita as with the DWP. From developing the offering that we currently have with the DWP to driving growth in key areas of their account you will manage this relationship and it's future with Capita.

We are looking for someone, ideally, with experience with working with the DWP however we would also consider people who are familiar with working on high value public service propositions. The size of the projects with the DWP would mean that we are looking for someone used to working on high value, complex, business development propositions, someone with a passion for delivering a first class service to our client and driving Capita's cutting edge reputation within the market.

This role is predominantly home based however there may be some travel to key client sites or to the Capita office in London as and when needed.

What you'll be doing:


  • Develop Market Engagement and Business Development Strategy to maximise our capabilities around Employability, Assessment Services, Fraud and Error and Automation. As well as explore potential for business within Digital Transformation within DWP
  • Origination of opportunities aligned to these areas of our capability
  • Stakeholder engagement across DWP, our supply chain, our partners and the wider market to enhance the visibility and reputation of Capita - to make them a 'go-to' choice for DWP in our areas of capability.
  • Develop core propositions around Employability, Fraud and Error, and Assessment services aligned to DWP requirements that maximise our chance of bidding for and winning major programmes in this area of the next 3 to 5 years
  • Create a network of key stakeholders both within the client but also relevant suppliers and internal Capita stakeholders

What we're looking for:


  • Ideally significant experience working with DWP and its internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating an understanding of the various markets DWP operates in.
  • A proven track record of delivering high value, complex propositions
  • A good understanding of the key Stakeholders and Decision Makers within DWP
  • Ideally and understanding and experience of the E Employability services market, how it operates, the supply chain and suppliers and how it works within DWP
  • A strong business development background and understanding of how to identify and win business in the UK Public Sector
  • Excellent communication and networking skills
