In this role, you will:

• Design and implement features for our data lake and data pipelines using Databricks, PySpark, and SQL.
• Lead system design to ensure secure and scalable data architecture.
• Collaborate with teams to deliver high-quality data solutions and visualizations.
• Champion DataOps culture, ensuring data consistency and business continuity.
• Mentor engineers on best practices in data engineering and quality standards.

Hi there!

We are looking for a brilliant tech leader for a data engineering team of our client - a UK-based company that creates educational and entertainment products, such as mobile apps, games, learning platforms, or content specifically designed for children and youth.

Important:

• Expert understanding of Data pipeline design and implementation using Databricks, and Python (or Python derivative, like PySpark).
• Expert visualization skills using Sisense and/or other visualization tools.
• Expert with SQL.
• Expert understanding of Data management and/or Data governance (making sure the data is of expected volume, schema, etc.)
• Experience with modern cloud-based Data Engineering on AWS or other cloud platforms.
• 2-3 years in a Data Lead role
• Advanced English

Nice to have:

• Experience with Kedro on Databricks.
• Experience in designing and implementing Data mesh.
• Exposure to Airbyte reading from multiple different data sources.
• Good understanding of microservices architecture principle.
