Job Title: Melting Refractory Technician
Division: Weir ESCO
Location: Newton
Onsite/ 2nd Shift


Purpose of Role: The Melting Refractory Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all ladles and vessels used in the Melting Department. This is a critical role that affects safety, quality, and production.

· Focus Area: Maintain and repair ladles and vessels
· Focus Area: Build stopper rods
· Focus Area: Maintain inventory of cast components
· Focus Area: Participate in safety and quality initiatives as part of our Continuous Improvement program.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
· Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.

· Education: High School diploma or GED
· Ability to obtain Crane and Forklift Operator certification through Weir Esco
· Strong reading, writing, and verbal skills

· Ability to work in a challenging manufacturing environment
