Overview:
The Director of Marketing Technology & Operations is a strategic leader responsible for owning the implementation, support, and optimization of the marketing technology (MarTech) ecosystem. This role ensures that marketing systems and processes are seamlessly integrated, fully optimized, and aligned with broader business objectives. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in MarTech platforms, operational excellence, and stakeholder management to deliver a scalable and efficient marketing technology infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
MarTech Systems Ownership:
- Oversee the implementation, integration, and optimization of key MarTech platforms, including:
- Tag Management Systems (e.g., Google Tag Manager, Tealium)
- Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) (e.g., Treasure Data, Salesforce CDP)
- Marketing Orchestration Platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, Braze)
- Audience Platforms (e.g., LiveRamp, Facebook Audience Manager, Google Audiences)
- Website and Content Management Systems (CMS) (e.g., WordPress, Contentful)
- Ensure data flow and synchronization across all marketing systems to enable seamless audience segmentation, personalization, and measurement.
System Optimization & Support:
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve system performance and drive efficiencies.
- Develop and implement robust governance frameworks to manage system access, usage, and compliance.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues, working closely with IT and vendor support teams.
Operational Excellence:
- Own the end-to-end MarTech procurement and onboarding process, ensuring alignment with finance and procurement teams.
- Manage vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts with procurement team, overseeing invoicing, and ensuring SLAs are met.
- Maintain a detailed inventory of MarTech tools, licenses, and usage metrics to inform decision-making and cost optimization.
- Maintain clean systems of records across projects, experiments and OKRs for the marketing team.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with marketing, IT, analytics, and product teams to align on strategic goals and technical requirements.
- Support marketing campaigns by enabling effective use of technology for audience segmentation, personalization, and tracking.
- Act as a liaison between marketing and legal/compliance teams to ensure adherence to data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Team Leadership & Development:
- Manage a team of MarTech specialists and operations professionals, providing guidance and development opportunities.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the team.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in marketing technology, operations, or related fields.
- Proven track record of managing and optimizing MarTech platforms in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong technical knowledge of tag management systems, CDPs, CMS platforms, and marketing orchestration tools.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges.
- Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and best practices in data management.
- Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring teams, with a focus on growth and development.
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
NDR role qualifications:
- Computer competency and ability to work with a computer.
- Prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Punctuality expected, ready to report to work on a consistent basis.

- Available for full-time position, overtime eligible if classified non-exempt.

Compensation Information:
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for each position across the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This good faith pay range is provided in compliance with NYC law and the laws of other jurisdictions that may require a salary range in job postings. The salary for this position is $156,000-$188,500
