Product Manager

Product Manager Financial Markets & Group Treasury

ING is looking for a senior Product Manager within the Financial Markets & Group Treasury (FM&GT) domain. Our primary function is to service the needs of ING’s clients with products, services and advice. FM&GT aims to be a leading market player in our home markets, with an additional presence in all the major international markets and specialist expertise in selected emerging markets and products.

The team

In this role you will be working within the back-office Ops & Platform teams which helps to achieve the goal of the FM&GT tribe by developing a scalable, stable, and resilient platform to support the Calypso and BOTS back-office applications.

Roles and responsibilities

As a Product Manager you have a positive attitude, are solution focused and have an ability to derive creative, smart, and practical solutions to complex problems. You have expertise in the areas of technical product development and delivery and work in a squad following Agile WoW together with other experts to achieve your squad's mission.

Your primary responsibilities are broadly classified below. However, you are also expected to learn and demonstrate new skills.

  • You create and communicate a product vision and management strategy for the IT Squad.
  • You bridge IT and business through understanding client needs, digitization and ensure delivery is of the right quality
  • Maximize the value of product delivery by taking ownership of the Product back log, prioritizing, and communicating it.
  • You are actively involved in creating Features, User Stories and tasks.
  • You manage the balance between running the bank and changing the bank.
  • Active and timely backlog management in collaboration with business and other IT stakeholders, with the aim of quickly responding to impediments and other challenges.
  • You build and maintain good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • You ensure that functional and non-functional requirements are drawn up and check their implementation. Non-functional requirements include, but are not limited to: IT Security, performance, contractual, legal obligations.

Furthermore, you have:

  • Maintain close relationships with stakeholders and cater to their requirements, which includes the Capability & Platform Engineers and fellow Product Managers, IT Area Lead, architects, peers, users, and consumers
  • Strong problem solving and analytical thinking. The ability to diagnose and slice ambiguous problems and translate them into well-defined features.
  • Experience in guiding and realizing change within the organization.
  • Experience in operations of high criticality systems and IT platforms.
  • Knowledge of the basic concepts of Public and Private cloud solutions
  • Action-oriented approach to your work, with a willingness to take a hands-on role to ensure results are achieved on time.
  • Sufficient technical understanding to challenge engineers on their choices and approach.
  • Clear communication, networking and influencing skills and prioritization skills to manage the expectations of several stakeholders.
  • PSPO certified
