The Field Service Technician II is responsible for the installation, set-up, repair, and routine maintenance of all packaging equipment at customer facilities and Shorr warehouse/demo rooms. 

Responsibilities

  • Set up, install/assemble, test, adjust, and disassemble all packaging equipment.
  • Repair packaging equipment. Diagnose problem, determine extent of repair, estimate labor time, and complete repair. Requisition or make up repair parts as necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance on all equipment.
  • Assist with moving packaging equipment.
  • Assist and train other Shorr Service Technicians and customer personnel.
  • Assist sales reps in equipment sales.
  • Assist and improve customer satisfaction through promoting company services and products within company guidelines.
  • Operate machine tools when necessary in repairing or installing equipment.
  • Follow all safety rules and keep work area clean.
  • Safely drive to and from local customers in company-owned vehicle. 
  • Attend vendor training/schools. Out of town travel may be necessary.
  • Travel to remote customer locations when necessary. 
  • Perform minor repairs on Shorr office and facility equipment.

The hourly rate targeted for this position is $30 - $37/hour and is bonus eligible.

This position is a remote position with daily travel to Shorr Packaging Customers. The Travel requirement for this position is up to 25% overnight, otherwise local client coverage.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum five years of experience in equipment maintenance, HVAC, military electrical or mechanical, or electromechanical experience. 
  • Microsoft Office with emphasis on Outlook, Word and Excel. PLC programming knowledge is also preferred.
  • Valid and current state driver’s license is required
  • Travel requirement for this position is up to 25% overnight, otherwise local client coverage
