Senior Communications Manager

Role Overview 

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the development and execution of comprehensive communication strategies that enhance the organization's reputation and effectively convey its messages to various stakeholders. This role requires a collaborative strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a deep understanding of Public Relations and internal communications. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Develop and implement comprehensive internal and external communications plans to support organizational goals and initiatives.
• Work cross functionally to create communications plans in support of business objectives. 
• Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all communication channels.
• Provide communications-related counsel to a range of colleagues, including executives and peers.
• Write and distribute press releases, thought leadership, internal communications, and other content.
• Build and maintain relationships with key media contacts and influencers.
• Coordinate and manage media interviews and other Public Relations events. 
• Coach and prepare spokespeople for speaking opportunities and media interviews.
• Foster a positive organizational culture by promoting company values and initiatives.
• Track and measure the effectiveness of communication activities and provide data-driven insights.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in communications.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding.

Skills & Competencies 

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear and persuasive messages.
• Extensive experience in internal and external communications, with a proven track record leading communications initiative.
• Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders and team members.
• Ability to analyze communication metrics and make data-driven decisions.

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in; Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in communications, ideally working in an agency or in-house role responsible for outreach to a broad stakeholder audience.
• Experience working with the PESO Model is preferred.
• Experience with circular economy and packaging policy and trends is preferred.
• Experience working at or with environmental NGOs is preferred. 

Compensation & Other Information 

• Location: Initially Fully Remote with potential in person times
• Reports To: Senior Vice President of Communications
