Job Description
The CEC Information technology portfolio is built around third-party service providers, SaaS solutions, and a small number of custom applications. Key systems include the NCR Aloha platform, the Workday platform, SEMNOX, and a Microsoft Azure and Microsoft O365. The solutions delivery approach is to maintain a lean IT organization and use a “flex staffing” strategy to assemble the skills and resources needed to successfully deliver projects and maintain the existing applications and platforms. These two characteristics combine to create a dynamic environment for project planning and execution involving internal and external resources, partners, and vendors.
We are seeking a talented Database Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in database design, development, and administration, with a particular focus on Microsoft SQL Server. This role involves working closely with software engineers, data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts to ensure data integrity, performance, and security.
Major Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Design, develop, and maintain complex database schemas, including tables, views, indexes, and stored procedures.
Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and partitioning strategies.
Develop and implement data integration solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Factory.
Create and maintain data models, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
Collaborate with business analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into effective database designs.
Ensure data quality and consistency through data cleansing processes and validation.
Monitor database performance and identify and resolve issues proactively.
Utilize Azure DevOps to manage source control, build pipelines, and release pipelines.
Implement automated testing and deployment processes for database changes.
Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls, encryption, and auditing.
Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Systems Engineering or relevant field of study, or equivalent work experience
10+ years of IT and business industry work experience
Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
Extensive experience with Azure Data Platform, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and Azure SQL Databases.
Experience converting and optimizing legacy SSIS and SSRS.
Demonstrated ability in data modeling techniques and tools to deliver high performing solutions.
Understanding of data warehousing and data lake concepts.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Azure ADFS and identity management.
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
Experience developing Azure PowerApps
