Title: Senior Product Manager - Transportation

Role Description:

As a Senior Product Manager on the Transportation team, you will be instrumental in revolutionizing ShipBob's logistics capabilities by developing cutting-edge solutions that transform our middle mile and long-haul transportation networks. You'll be responsible for expanding ShipBob's delivery capabilities across the globe, with a focus on leveraging technologies such as AI and complex transportation network optimization. 

ShipBob is investing heavily in changing our transportation network with enhanced capabilities for across service levels and modes. This role requires someone who can systematically design and implement intelligent solutions that balance cost, speed, and network efficiency. 

In Product, we believe in being outcome-driven, using metrics to test and measure everything. You'll be accountable for ownership of metrics like Shipcost, delivery performance, and network utilization. 

The ideal candidate will thrive on solving complex transportation network problems, using data- based approaches to continuously improve our logistics infrastructure. You'll work at the intersection of technology and logistics, transforming traditional transportation constraints into competitive advantages for digital brands. 

We're looking for a highly systematic thinker who can establish sophisticated success metrics. Your work will be critical in maintaining ShipBob's position as the best e-commerce logistics provider in the market 

What you’ll do:

  • Manage a scrum team consisting of 5+ engineers. 
  • From concept to launch, own the execution of new delivery capabilities and carrier management tools. 
  • Develop a deep level of user empathy through product data, competitive study, and user research. 
  • Convert feedback from customers and stakeholders into simple and effective features. 
  • Know the success metrics for your product area and build the tracking plan to support it; understand and communicate how the work that you’re prioritizing is helping deliver those metrics. 
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, engineering, design, and senior leaders to rapidly execute and iterate. 
  • Conduct agile ceremonies with Engineering, Design and QA teams. 
  • Organize high-velocity, predictable sprints. 
  • Mitigate risks and remove blockers for scrum teams. 
  • Ensure items in the backlog meet the Definition of Ready and see the work all the way through to the Definition of Done. 
  • Evangelize the product roadmap and ensure alignment between scrum teams. 
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as necessary 

Note: This role involves work timings which would include overlap with US business hours for 3 hours daily.

What you’ll bring to the table: 

  • 6 years or more of experience in product – based companies 
  • Experience managing a product team with engineers and UX triad. 
  • Experience with data and optimization tools and designing experiments to optimize the conversion funnel. 
  • Technical acumen to facilitate the design and development of software solutions. 
  • A healthy balance of skepticism and curiosity. 
  • Ability to influence without authority. 
  • An acute understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies. 
  • Ability to work under deadlines in an ambiguous environment. 
  • Relentless user-centricity. 
  • A data-deliver mindset (ability to work with SQL is a must and MS Excel) 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Prior supply chain/Transportation or eCommerce product experience would be given preference for this role
