ReDiscover is seeking a Diagnostician to add to our Adult and Family Services Clinic!

WHAT WE DO

The Adult and Family Services (AFS) Therapy Program is the outpatient therapy department of ReDiscover. This program provides support to clients from all backgrounds, ages, needs, and often to those who have difficulties seeking treatment elsewhere. The AFS Therapy Program provides both telehealth and in-person sessions which gives clinical staff flexibility to work from home a few days each week.

At ReDiscover, while every day is different, a typical day may include the following roles and responsibilities:

Under the general direction of the Program Manager, the Diagnostician provides biopsychosocial assessment, individual, group and case management services as appropriate for adults who are in services with ReDiscover in accordance with the standards of clinical practice established by the State of Missouri and the policies and procedures of Rediscover. Job duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Completes assessment and interpretative summary.
  • Guides client in developing a person centered treatment plan based upon assessed needs.
  • Ensures that treatment plan objectives, interventions, services provided, and documentation are related to needs identified within the assessments and are medically necessary.
  • Establishes rapport quickly and develops a therapeutic relationship to determine appropriate service level and/or discharge
  • Establish discharge criteria with the client and discharges client when criteria is met
  • Quickly identifies needs of the individual clients with the goal of therapeutic engagement
  • Responds to psychiatric crisis
  • Matches therapeutic approach to the client presentation/need
  • Provides authorizations for insurance covered services in a timely manner
  • Teaches clients to identify warning signs and symptoms and equips them to manages these symptoms
  • Completes internal referrals/transfers to assure smooth transfers between programs to ensure seamless service provision
  • Consults and collaborates with other team members on clinical interventions and crises.
  • Demonstrates flexibility, willingness, and competence to meet the needs of the department/agency
  • Collaborates for the provision of services with all other treatment/service providers external to the agency.
  • Assures progress notes relate directly to treatment plan
  • Other duties as assigned.

We are focused on your development and will spend time helping you continue to grow as a Diagnostician.  However, here are some things that you will need prior to starting with ReDiscover:

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, counseling or related field.
  • Monday to Friday, (40) hour work week. - 8:00am to 5:00pm 
  • Active Professional Counselor license (LPC) or Provisional Counselor license (PLPC) through the state of Missouri or a Master Social Worker license (LMSW) with registered supervisor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • At least two (2) years experience in direct service provision in a mental health setting
  • Working knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorders.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.
  • Strong  written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as GSuite.
