About This Location:

Our Home Office is located in the heart of Bloor West Village in Toronto, just steps away from Jane Subway station. This role is a hybrid position with a requirement to attend the office one day per week or as needed.

About This Role:

Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing internal communications programs designed to build an understanding of Arbor’s goals and priorities focused on creating an exceptional employee experience.       

This new role at Arbor will lead Arbor’s internal communication strategy through planning, implementing and evaluating integrated internal communications initiatives designed to increase employee engagement and understanding of Arbor’s goals and priorities. 

Key Qualifications and Demonstrated Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, or related field is required.
  • 5+ years dedicated experience in internal communications.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with superb ability to translate ideas into clear, compelling messaging.
  • Strong ability to build cross-functional relationships and influence without authority across all levels and functions in order to manage and drive communications narratives across the internal organization.
  • Experience using multiple communications platforms, including digital, print, social and events.
  • Experience with SharePoint and Contact Monkey is considered an asset
  • Fully fluent in French and English, written and verbal is considered an asset.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement the internal communications strategic plan for the company; advise senior leaders on effective communication strategies that are in line with their leadership style, and develop communications that build engagement and a positive caring culture within Arbor. 
  • Support and enhance Company Intranet on SharePoint including management of Content Authors, intranet guidelines and troubleshooting with partners in IT. 
  • Plan, write, edit and post content on behalf Human Resources, ownership and senior leadership for a variety of internal communications vehicles including but not limited to: Intranet, email, newsletters, internal social media, town halls, annual meetings.
  • Project manage communication events (virtual and in person), video or photography shoots.
  • Lead the HR communication strategy and adjust as necessary to meet the needs of the business including learning and development, wellness, recognition and engagement.
  • Partners with Arbor’s Marketing and Communications team to deliver internal employer brand strategies.
  • Performs other job requirements as needed.
