FTE: 1.0, Shift: Day, Schedule: Tuesday - Friday, 8am - 6pm
The Lakewood Behavioral Health Contact Team (BHCT) has been around for many years and was one of the first programs in Pierce County to offer the model of pairing crisis clinicians with police officers. This is a very exciting and rewarding position! The Crisis Clinician will be provided the opportunity to provide mental health education/insights to Lakewood Police Officers to help reduce the stigma toward mental health and substance use through the general use of trauma informed care.
You will get the opportunity to work alongside Lakewood Police Officers that will include both responding to active call and following up on mental health and substance use related cases. The incumbent will have the chance to make a big difference in the Lakewood community through learning about different resources and how to best utilize them with the clients you will be getting to know on a clinical basis.
