This Senior Cybersecurity Engineer position works out of Alameda, CA, or remotely in the US.
This group works with amazing devices. We’re focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.
The person hired in this role will ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. They will also participate in technical and non-technical projects requiring information security oversight and to ensure policies, procedures and standards are met.
What You’ll Work On
Conduct threat modeling to identify security risks
Define security requirements for product solutions
Design and maintain secure, resilient enterprise-grade cloud processes in tandem with architects and system engineers.
Responsible for defining improvements to the program and implementing new technologies, tools, metrics, and standards.
Secure business applications and computing environments across public, private, or hybrid cloud infrastructures.
Attend regular technical project and implementation meetings, and serve as the security consultant to help guide secure application and infrastructure configurations.
Actively monitor, assess and recommend tactical and strategic initiatives based on new and emerging threats posing risk to cloud computing environments.
Document, formulate and enforce areas of security improvement that balance risk with business operations and do not diminish efficiencies or innovation.
Stay apprised of current and proposed security changes impacting regulatory, privacy and security industry best practice guidance. Apply learned knowledge across key lines of business, including products, practices and procedures.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Minimum 5 years of work experience in software and/or security areas.
Progressively more responsible work experience in a range of software engineering disciplines using a variety of programming methods.
Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model is preferred.
Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.
Preferred Qualifications:
Software Engineering experience in coding with multiple languages, experience in hackathons, and a passion for being proactive in the IT security industry.

The base pay for this position is
$95,000.00 – $190,000.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
