Position Purpose:

The Government Account Executive (GAE) is responsible for acquiring Federal, State, local or educational new clients and partnering with existing ones within an assigned geographic territory while ensuring corporate profitability and a positive return on investment. The GAE ensures effective, timely management of programs and projects to drive revenue and profitability. The GAE coordinates launches of new clients, as well as development opportunities with the existing client base by professionally managing and coordinating internal and external processes in a manner that reflects the requirements of the National Account team, the Executive Management team, the Legal department, and Shred-it operational processes. Additionally, the GAE tracks and coordinates the implementation of contract terms and any contract expirations or notice periods to ensure pro-activity. The GAE is responsible to understand and comply with company principles, standards, goals, and objectives and to reinforce and exemplify Stericycle's Values at all times.

The Government Account Executive is a FULLY remote position. 

 

Key Job Activities:

1) Accountable for achieving the sales and revenue plan for the assigned geography, with a priority on existing government agency contracts within existing states. This role is a “farmer” account management and development role to grow and expand our base of accounts.

 

2) Establish, build and manage strong client relationships with target clients utilizing our security audit and consultative sales processes.

 

3) Contact target clients to communicate Shred-it value proposition and position Shred-it for success in meeting client’s secure document destruction needs.

 

4) Maintain and foster client rapport after contract execution to ensure program is successful and exceed client’s expectations.

 

5) Collaborate with districts/regions/senior management/marketing to assist with the facilitation of new programs, campaigns, and offerings, as required. Write proposals and respond to Request for Proposals/Quotations (RFPs/RFQs).

 

6) Communicate competitive movement in named target clients and assigned existing clients, and develop win strategies for these clients.

 

7) Develop, grow, manage and maintain a healthy prospect pipeline in Salesforce.com platform

 

8) Travel will be required.

Education:
Required Education: in Associates or Equivalent
Experience (North America & LATAM):

Education & Experience
•    Post-secondary education, with a major in business or sales and marketing is preferred but not required
•    Minimum of two (2) years of account management experience preferred
•    Previous industry experience, including an understanding of document destruction and/or records management, business continuity and risk management solutions is preferred
•    Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products, and strong internet skills
•    Ability to sit for up to eight (8) hours per day
•    Ability to operate a personal computer
•    Ability to talk regularly over the phone with customers and co-workers up to eight (8) hours per day
