Ripple is seeking a highly organized and engaged individual to join our global policy team, with a focus on the Latin America region. The position will be based in São Paulo and will report  to our Head of Policy, with frequent interaction with other Senior Management. This individual will assist in outreach with regulators and central banks within the Latin America region, advocating for legislation and policy changes that support continued growth and responsible innovation in the digital asset space. As an integral part of our agile policy function with policy colleagues in the UK, Dubai, Singapore, Washington DC, San Francisco, you will work on some of the most exciting regulatory and business issues in fintech today. A legal background and degree is preferred  and would enable  the individual to work closely with their local business partners commercially. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Help educate government officials, policymakers, regulators, central banks, and customers in the LATAM region on Ripple’s solutions and the company’s role as a fintech service provider.
  • Manage and coordinate the work carried out by Ripple's external public policy consultants in the LATAM region.
  • Monitor regulatory and industry developments in the LATAM region to advise on potential impacts to Ripple’s product roadmap. 
  • Represent Ripple and manage relationships with Trade Associations in Latin America.
  • Manage relationships with civil society organizations (Think Tanks) that Ripple partners with in the LATAM region.
  • Assist in drafting comment letters and white papers that advocate for responsible innovation and adoption of emerging payment technology.
  • Assist in drafting thought leadership pieces on issues related to digital asset adoption and financial policy.
  • Assist in developing and executing a regulatory engagement strategy supporting Ripple’s growth and presence in the LATAM region.
  • Assist in drafting Ripple's comments on public consultations and information requests made by regulators, central banks, and governments in LATAM.
  • Cross-functional collaboration and ownership, including working with nearly every team at Ripple.
  • Support commercial work locally including contract drafting.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • MPP preferred, but not required
  • JD degree will allow for greater interaction with the business team on commercial endeavors.
  • Fluency in English, Portuguese and Spanish  required
  • 10+ years of relevant experience working in tech, payments, and/or crypto related fields
  • The ideal candidate for this role has experience analyzing regulations and authorizing legislation as well as direct experience interacting with government officials
  • Excellent problem solving skills, judgment, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent at collaborating with many contributors and cross-functional partners
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to present complex issues in a clear and concise manner (whether written or verbal)
  • Organized, detail-oriented, resourceful and flexible
