Overview:

Join us as a Senior Financial Operations Specialist with FedWriters, supporting the Department of Defense Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel & Readiness (OUSD P&R) in a remote setting. Work Schedule and Location:

Remote: This full-time remote position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.

Responsibilities:
  • Support work regarding strategic and operational readiness for the military, force training, or other federal workforces' education programs, and the safety of the DoD or civilian workforce
  • Support work regarding talent management policies for military and/or civilian workforces
  • Support work regarding Civilian and/or Military Personnel Policies, Reserve or other federal agency Integration, Military and/or Civilian Community Family Policies, and Total Force Planning
  • Support work regarding the delivery of world-class health care to all DoD or other federal agency military or civilian members, retirees, and families
  • Support work regarding the strengthening and promoting the resiliency and readiness of the Total Force or other federal agency work force, through the development of integrated policies, oversight, and synchronization of activities in the areas of diversity management and equal opportunity, personnel risk reduction, suicide prevention, sexual assault prevention and response, and collaborative efforts with the Department of Veterans' Affairs or other federal agencies
  • Provide support to DoD or other federal agency Financial Management, technical staff and expertise to support missions related to the development, deployment, operations, and sustainment of the DoD or other federal agency program applications and related business processes
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of relevant experience as an Financial Operations Specialist in one or more of the related areas below:
    • Experience supporting enterprise-wide resource management and Program/Budget formulation for OUSD P&R or other federal agencies.
    • Experience supporting Executive Secretary and Correspondence Control Office/ GAO, IG, and FOIA Hotlines for OUSD P&R or other federal agencies.
    • Experience providing Studies, Analysis, and Decision Support (Senior governance forums, FFRDC studies) for OUSD P&R or other federal agencies.
    • Experience supporting Strategic Initiatives Group (Strategic Planning, Assessments, &
      Messaging/Engagements) for OUSD P&R or other federal agencies.
    • Experience supporting Continuity of Operations and Crisis Management for OUSD P&R or other federal agencies.
    • Experience supporting and executing civilian and/or military human resources and manpower management for OUSD P&R or other federal agencies.
    • Experience supporting facilities management, IT, and logistics support to P&R or other federal agency.
    • Experience supporting security (physical and SCIF, personnel and clearances, information, IT) management for OUSD P&R or other federal agencies.
    • Experience providing advice and recommendations to enhance the capabilities, efficiency, and effectiveness of the reserve components or other federal agency force.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study (Business, Accounting, etc.) preferred
  • Professional certifications/license in related field are desired
  • Security clearance highly desired
