Job Summary
Works with Clinical Planning and study teams to support the budget management and financial centralization process in addition to ensuring the total clinical study budget is effectively developed, maintained and reconciled, thereby enabling accurate forecast of expenditure.
Essential Functions
Ensures consistency of processes and approaches across clinical study budget preparation, maintenance and reconciliation.
Perform all functions related to purchase order, invoice assignment and billing reconciliation.
Set up and update purchase orders for executed contracts and amendments.
Ensure all invoices are assigned with correct purchase order information before sending to approvers.
Develop and manage invoice trackers.
Perform billing reconciliation and investigate billing discrepancies.
Support Clinical Planning in resolving financial centralization issues to ensure continuous improvement.
Works with study teams to provide oversight to the study budget process in accordance with the study design (develops preliminary estimates, sets a baseline, monitors costs against budget, estimates the impact of changes in study plans on budgets, and works effectively with Finance to ensure accurate budgeting information is being submitted for forecasting of clinical study expenditure).
Acts as a source of information for benchmark development globally, working with Clinical Operations to ensure country level site templates are prepared using Fair Market Value and updated when required.
Complete other related tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in associated functional discipline required
5+ years experience in functional discipline
Candidate must possess strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, be highly organized and detail oriented
Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams globally
Strong track record of building successful relations with supervisors, peers, suppliers and stakeholders is essential
Ability to multi-task without compromising quality of work
Ability to keep accurate and organized records
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook, especially Microsoft Excel
Basic knowledge of vendor and site contracting processes and content
Demonstrates understanding of end-to-end drug development lifecycle, including Phase I-IV clinical study development and study execution
Appropriately applies strong knowledge of Eisai’s business processes to effectively align activities within own area of work to drive team results
Demonstrates ongoing awareness of competitors’ drugs/products, overall landscape in bio-pharmaceutical industry, and Eisai’s functional strengths, strategy and position

Eisai Salary Transparency Language:
The base salary range for the Manager, Clinical Planning is from :105,000-137,900
Under current guidelines, this position is eligible to participate in : Eisai Inc. Annual Incentive Plan.
Final pay determinations will depend on various factors including but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, and skills.
