The Position

The Opportunity:
 

The Lead IT Workflow Consultant position serves as a high level resource to others in the Roche Consulting team on matters related to Roche digital solutions with specific expertise centered around navify Lab Operations (formerly cobas infinity) and the broader navify portfolio. The focus of this role is the resolution of complex problems and technical issues with expert-level technical acumen for the assigned products to improve efficiency, effectiveness and quality of IT/digital solutions designed and proposed by the IT Workflow Consulting team. 

Primary duties involve: acting as the field subject matter expert for Roche digital  products through close interactions with regional and global technical experts and product owners, serving as the lead internal resource in creating plans for technical training and mentorship of consultants, including new hires. Provides support to consultants (and in some circumstances customers) on matters related to the technical requirements of each individual module of Roche’s digital products to support consultants completing critical work on areas such as solution design, solution requirements, features and benefits, solution design validation, and pre-implementation preparation prior to installation. Utilizes independent judgment and discretion in analysis of team needs, customer needs and problem solving issues that arise during the sales and implementation preparation processes. 

The position requires the ability to be agile in a rapidly changing, matrix organization, and be comfortable operating in an evolving, ambiguous environment. Independently analyzes and resolves most technical questions and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels. Provides leadership and direction in consultant training and development issues, including co-travel and mentoring staff leveraging their knowledge and expertise. Assignments are broad in nature and usually require originality, ingenuity, and analysis. Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues . Trains, assists, and may audit the work of other consultants. Is able to work independently, with minimal need for direct supervision. 

  • Serve as technical expert for assigned Roche digital solution(s)

  • Holds 1:1 check in calls with assigned team members on a regular cadence and communicates any issues/updates to manager.

  • Owns the digital solution transition process from pre-sales to pre-implementation to ensure an effective hand off to the Digital Solutions Engineer team 

  • Builds, maintains and leverages relationships with global product owners and other experts (RC, GCS, etc) to ensure latest knowledge and expertise are available to the NAM RC teams. Liaises with the global life-cycle teams to ensure product readiness for the RDC organization, including review of installation documentation, internal and external product testing, and internal procedure and documentation updates.

  • Develops content and leads training to ensure NAM RC consultants (including new hires) are able to execute their jobs using the best and latest technical information. Mentors new hires and less experienced team members. Is available to provide feedback on solution designs created by consultants on a 1:1 basis or through moderated project review group calls

  • Participates in the review of requirements for new product development/launch, as appropriate. Provide expert technical advice and reinforce training to internal resources and customers, in the implementation of Roche solutions and investigation and resolution of complex issues.

  • Assist in highly valued and complex customer pre-sales and post-contract project calls to ensure we are providing the right solution for the customer and following an efficient process.

  • Additionally, consults to sales, marketing, implementation and other departments as SMEs in support of defining process execution, product strategy, and other tactics. Represents RC in sprints and other continuous improvement workshops. 

  • Serves as part of the extended US RC Leadership Team

  • Responsible for self administrative requirements including expenses, team project reports, documentation, status reports, and adherence to regulatory requirements.

  • Ability to travel 70+% to support complex customer engagements, co-travel with team members and attend sprints/workshops.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science preferred, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, and six years of laboratory IT, general IT, product line experience or 8 years of experience.

Preferred:

  • Extensive experience within the Clinical Chemistry laboratory as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist

  • Recognized technical knowledge of Roche IT/digital solutions inclusive of navify Lab Operations (formerly cobas infinity) and the broader navify portfolio.

  • 2+ years experience as an IT Workflow Consultant within Roche Consulting

  • Currently holds relationships with global product experts (IPMs, GCS, RC, others) and is able to leverage these relationships for ongoing training, new product information, and collaboration 

  • Prior experience developing and/or delivering training (technical or non-technical) with awareness of adult-learning theories and practices.  

  • Understanding of RDC total solution including interaction and interoperability between RDC digital solutions and Roche hardware systems to include analytic and automation platforms

  • Prior experience in coaching/mentoring junior level staff preferred. Prior leadership or lead worker experience and proven success in overseeing and guiding a work team’s functional activities. Excellent analytical, problem analysis and decision-making skills

  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, consult, and drive resolution for issues related to assigned IT/digital solutions that are brought up by other consultants.  Effective communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with and translate requirements for both technical and non-technical groups

  • Ability to understand and strategically communicate IT workflows/solutions for complex IHNs

  • In-depth knowledge of the clinical customer base, critical components of an LIS and laboratory IT processes/workflows

  • Advanced degree(s) related to IT, management/administration or laboratory science. 

  • Three years project or process management experience

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indianapolis  is $106,100.00 to $197,00.00.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
