About the role

We are looking for an experienced data consultant with a data architecture and data governance background to work on diverse and challenging projects. Here, you will be involved in defining data strategies with prospective leads and working for existing clients’ data platform projects. You will be designing and optimising data architecture with establishing and maintaining robust data governance frameworks. You will play a critical role in ensuring data is structured, secure, and compliant, while supporting the organization’s strategic goals for data-driven decision-making.

  • Contract length: 1 year (B2B)

  • Start Date: 27 of January 2024

  • Contract duration: 1 year

  • Daily Requirement: 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday

  • Timezone: Pacific Time Zone preferred (Ideally, the contractor should be located in the Pacific Time Zone or the Eastern region but available to work Pacific Time Zone hours)

  • Location: Canada/Argentina/Chile

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluate client business, process, systems and technology requirements during the initial phases and advise clients on best practices to help guide and solidify proposed designs;

  • Help drive business development with the customer by finding new opportunities based on expanding existing solutions and/or creating new ones;

  • Lead and/or contribute to the design and development of cloud-based data systems;

  • Provide cloud data systems expertise for proposals and other business development efforts;

  • Provide guidance in the implementation work, as well as mentorship for fellow project members.

  • Consult with clients to assess current problem states, define desired future states, define solution architecture and make solutions recommendations;

  • Work with Delivery Leads and Project Managers to define strategic plans for clients either for blueprint architectures or for improving existing data platforms.

  • Participate in events, conferences, and meetups, and represent Infinite Lambda. 

 

Requirements

You need a minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role having led greenfields or large data platform migration projects. The following requirements are mandatory:

  • Data Governance:

    • Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure data integrity, quality, and security. ;

    • Define and manage data stewardship roles and responsibilities across the organization

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory and privacy requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA);

    • Experience with Data Governance Tools e.g. Microsoft Purview, Atlan, Alation, Collibra

    • Educate stakeholders on data governance practices and advocate for a culture of responsible data use

  • Ability to transform business-oriented goals into technical data architectures and plans of work;

  • Ability to architect complex data warehouses and data platforms;

  • Ability to consult and create proposals and project plans for new or existing clients; 

  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with projects’ champions;

  • Experience with cloud-based data architectures and modern data stack (Data platforms, e.g. Snowflake and Databricks,  BI Tools, e.g. PowerBI, Looker, dbt, data ingestions tools, e.g. Fivetran);

  • Experience with defining mid/long-term data strategies that translate into actionable plans of work;
