Get to Know the Opportunity:   

Voya Financial is looking to hire an individual into the role of Underwriting Quality Systems Analyst. In this role the analyst will provide essential data analysis to enhance tools and information related to company group underwriting objectives. 

They will build and test guidelines and perform Quality Assurance (QA) analysis to ensure pricing accuracy and minimize risk of error.  Also responsible for communicating results of these analyses to the underwriters to ensure understanding of feedback.

Responsible for development / execution of Underwriting systems testing requirements to ensure updates function as intended.  Develops tools to improve underwriting efficiency / accuracy to enhance business processes

Please Note:  Work location for this role is FLEXIBLE! This position allows 100% remote work from home or allows work to be performed in any of our major office locations with a hybrid schedule. 

 The Contributions You’ll Make:

  • Review and provide recommendations on underwriting policies / procedures and ensure compliance through executing QA process. Develop informative metrics for Manager in refinement of QA program regarding adherence to risk rules.  Provide QA review for assigned underwriters and relevant coaching to close learning gaps to measure the quality of underwriting decisions. In performing reviews Senior Analyst should regularly review guidelines and present to Manager of QA and Underwriting systems relevant changes to documented guidelines.
  • Create methodology and tools for the Underwriting systems enhancement requirements and the subsequent testing protocols.  This will include working cross functionally to recommend business enhancements and with the Underwriting systems / UW team to implement those enhancements.
  • Support Development/Testing of Underwriting Workbench or other Rating/Administration systems for Group Health products.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Knowledge & Experience:  

  • 5+ years underwriting or actuarial experience with Group Employee Benefits products (Stop Loss, Supplemental Health and/or Life and Disability insurance) is strongly preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience is a must
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent written and Communication

Preferred Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

$84,260 - $105,320 USD
